This airport has a great runway, it’s uphill for the first half but if your not going quite fast enough to take off its downhill for the second half which really helps get your speed up

Jabiru airport is a small airport. It is used primarily as a fly-in-fly-out for the Ranger Uranium mine in Kakadu National Park. As of Jan 2021, the Ranger mine is closing, so it will be interesting to see how the airport fares when the mining planes stop. The other main use for Jabiru airport is to fly scenic tours over Kakadu and Arnhem Land, which I why I was there. There is a souvenir shop, some drinks and food options, as well as the tour offices for the scenic flight companies. If you are booked for a scenic flight, there is everything you need here if you want souvenirs, and don't forget to ask.. you get 20% off souvenirs if you have taken a scenic flight with some operators.

A great place . Awesome staff. Fantastic gift shop supporting and promoting the amazing local indigenous talent . Fantastic books for young and old . Dreamtime stories that need to be told . Artwork , t-shirts , sunnies, hats and thongs, jewellery didgeridoo's beautiful postcards to send to your friends . Everything a tourist could need and want . Well done everyone.

A small airport built and still managed by ERA, can only accept small passenger charter flight and tourist sightseeing flights, there is a tourist gift shop, cafeteria has been closed for a few years now
