Absolutely the worst service one would hope for during a difficult time. If you are thinking about paying for legal assistance steer clear of Bannerman’s Solicitors.
FYI Bannerman also provide legal services for legal aid WA, so they take on much more than they can chew to keep the government’s dollars rolling in, and the result is extremely poor service.
In dealing with Patrick Gardner (my ex-partner’s lawyer) from Bannerman’s I’ve experienced replies to emails taking greater than 3 weeks. He has been reported to the legal board of WA and they have spoken to him about it. His response was that he has so many cases on and is in court every day he hasn’t had time to reply. Since then his service remains terrible, saying he will send through proposals in 2-3 days, however after 2 weeks he’s sent nothing through. When his intent was questioned his response was “This has not been my client's delay, it has been due to Court commitments and other issues on my end”. My ex and I just want to move on with our lives, and Bannermans are clearly not up to the job.
Further to this, when attending court, Patrick was juggling multiple cases at the same time/day, having to pop into other courtrooms to deal with other matters while our matter was being heard. Apparently this is standard for Bannerman’s.
I hope by sharing my experience it saves other’s from having to deal with this low level of professionalism. If you are considering spending money on a lawyer, I’d advise to spend it elsewhere.

Bannerman Solicitors go above and beyond for their clients, and have a great reputation for a reason. After reading myself, a lot of the low rated google reviews seem to be from one person who was on the opposite side of Bannerman who didn't get a desired outcome. I would recommend this Firm to all those who are in need of Legal services, and irrespective of any outcome, rest assured you are in the best hands. Patrick Gardner, and his Assistant, Brooke Edwards are a phenomenal team, and I highly recommend them. To date, they have gone above and beyond, been informative, thorough, and caring.

Julia was the ICL for my case. She was professional, impartial and independent. She followed up on both sides of the case, keeping the child's interest at heart. She later provided recommendations to the court that assisted resolve the matter in good time. I would recommend her for anyone seeking legal assistance on family matters.

This guy has no morals, he is only interested in making money. No wonder he has a holiday house in Yallinup. He promotes the other party to make child abuse claims with no basis. Just be mindful that if you end up going trial, he will try to stir you up and make you angry so then if you do, it's all over. He will say restrain yourself, and by getting himself in an angry mood, tries to make you angry. Just look him in his eyes like I did and say to yourself you were expecting this and that you are nothing but a sad depressed old man. Me an Autistic guy, went to 4 days trial without a lawyer and not even preparing against 3 lawyers. By the end of 4'th I withdrew (as planned). That made me feel really good, realising I was undefeated and only withdrew on my own wish. In the end of the day family court is all rigged, and having a lawyer means you are just filling their pockets regardless unless you are with legal aid.

Julia is the best ICL your child can get in Perth. She is the most independent, unbiased and does everything to protect vulnerable children so they can have a happy childhood.
