Was told by Mrs. and Mr. Cooke directly that I would definitely be getting back some of my retainer because I came in providing receipts, deeds, car titles, bank statements, credit card statments, insurance, literally everything and this was "the easiest divorce" Nothing was contested, nothing was changed. My ex wasn't even served! I took the paperwork back and forth for signatures, got them notarized and anything else. I did not call or email with a single question as I was told there would be charges for that and somehow they still managed to charge me the exact amount of my retainer. Noticing I was charged for their paralegal errors, like submitting paperwork to the court without the attorneys signature, I sent emails and made multiple calls. When I finally got a callback in the middle of discussing the call dropped and that was the last time I heard from them. They were all very friendly and while there was a delay in filing, again on the paralegals part, it was completed quickly but I am disappointed with the dishonesty.

Don’t waste your time. I called for a consultation. Received a call back after giving the receptionist my info. She says “Mr Cooke advised me this isn’t something he can help you with.” Umm, what? It’s a divorce? That’s what you guys do. She wouldn’t give me reasoning either.

Patricia Cooke did a great job on my divorce. She was very reasonable in price and her professionalism is unparalleled. Her paralegal Jennifer was very helpful when I had questions and was always able to get me the answers I needed when I called or emailed her. Utilizing Jennifer and only using Patricia when Jenn couldn't help kept the overall cost of my divorce down significantly. Patricia Stanley and her paralegal Jenn were awesome! Patricia is the most affordable attorney in Johnson county and the best! Her paralegal Jenn is well versed and is able to handle a lot of issues which helped keep costs down. I was able to wrap up a divorce in 6 months that had child custody issues/ a business to divide/ and a ton of assets.
