Came here to write what everyone else has already written. Neil stole $1800 from my ex and I for what was supposed to be a super simple divorce. Recently I’ve had to go digging for divorce documents that were said to have been filed back in 2022 and to my insane surprise!!! I’m not effin’ divorced nor does any such document exist. UnREAL that is guy is still in operation. I have emailed his assistant Hayley on numerous occasions to express my frustration and concern and demand my money back or have them send proof of documentation that they supposedly did… no answer. I do not understand how this man still has a practise if you can even call it that. More like scam and stealing from whoever he chooses. This won’t go unseen and I am last person to sit back quietly. This isn’t over

My fiancé hired this firm almost 1 yr ago. At the beginning he communicated like any company should. He was paid approx 1200.00 and they were told it would take 4 or 5 mths. Fast forward to today and after multiple calls and emails which have all been ignored, a call was placed to the court of kings bench. Imagine our shock when we were informed this simple divorce was filed Aug 9, 2024. He also was asked in April 2024 the status and he blatantly lied by say everything was filed at the court house and it was just a matter of time till it was signed off. We are now reporting this crook to BBB and the law society. We are also considering legal action against this person.
In our opinion he shouldn’t be allowed to touch anything relating to the services he claims to supply. STEER CLEAR!!!!
I have spoken to the law society who forwarded me to “Canadian association of paralegals” (caplegal.ca) and was told to file a complaint which I have done today.

Stay away!! Would give zero stars if I could. Neil took a deposit of nearly $1k in 2023. We met in December and were told it would be 3-4 months and all done. Since then we heard nothing. I’ve called his cell and emailed many times with no response. He has a Facebook page with 3 office numbers - all disconnected. Finally I went to the Calgary office in person to see if I could get anywhere. Office admin told me he was evicted for not paying rent. So at this point we are starting over and our deposit is gone. Find someone else to help you out!

Neil was absolutely phenomenal. I had a very sticky situation with the previous lawyer that I had. My lawyer was disbarred.
The custody judgement was already in place, and the custody documents were filed.
He took on my case with confidence, that he would get the process completed.
It did take some time, as I had to order documents from the court and registry that were in my previous file.
The courts took their time.
The entire process took about 10 months from start to finish.
During the entire process, any questions that I had for Neil were answered promptly. He was informative, understanding, and compassionate through the entire process.
He can’t speed up the court processes, but what he will do is reassure you.
Divorce is never easy. In time it will be behind you.

I used this company 5 years ago and it was an amazing experience so why would I not recommend it to Alanna my now fiancé who needs to get her divorce finalized as well. It has been an absolute disappointment. Neil met with and took an $800 deposit from my finance and said it would be all done within 1-2 months. That was 6 months ago and for the past 4 months we have been trying to get a hold of ANYONE working in this office with zero response. We have emailed and called several times with nothing. Once a great experience is now a nightmare. Avoid at all costs. Just wondering how many people he’s taken a deposit from now and ghosted like he has with us.

this lawyer .. avoid my call we already paid him… he never get back to us… NEVER RETURNED CALL… I JUST NEED THE PAPER THAT WE ALREADY PAID … why you do that us… PLS GIVE US A CALL… DONT just IGNORE US OR GIVE US THE MONEY BACK… i work hard for that money if u don’t want to do the paper… STOP AVOIDING US OR JUST IGNORE OUR CALL ….i paid him ALL ITS WAS MY MISTAKE WHY I PAID HIM … CAN U IMAGIN it’s been 5 month now… WHY HE DONT ANSWER OUR PHONE… so that we know… GIVE ME BACK MY 1,600

Update:
Neil Kelly finally contacted us to meet with him and resign so that he could 'refile' our papers to the court. I have tried to contact him a couple of times since for some assurance that he indeed did get our papers to the court, with no response at all. I called the Court of Kings Bench today and was elated to hear that there has been progress on our file! Our papers are awaiting an officer of the court to sign. It's not done, but there is forward motion after nearly 2 years of waiting.

Would not give the ONE STAR rating if it allowed a ZERO. Save yourself the lost money and immense frustration! DO NOT HIRE this company.
I went to them based on rave reviews from a few friends who had wonderful experiences in past years. However, my experience has been the exact opposite. All was well until I asked for an update as I knew folks getting divorces finalized when they had filed long AFTER Neil had us sign the final document and write a cheque for the balance of the bill. I called for an update ... crickets. I emailed ... crickets. I went to the office where we'd signed papers ... closed permanently. I found another office he works out of and went in person ... he was not in. Had his reception send him an email since mine were all ignored. He DID call back this time and said that our file must have gotten lost in the 'new system' at the courthouse and he would investigate the following Monday. No updates ... I called, emailed ... crickets. I called the Courthouse with my file number (I had this from a previous failed attempt at navigating the system on my own) and there has been NO ACTIVITY on my file since my own filing 6 years ago. The clerks said there were no 'new systems' that would have caused any issues, and I likely fell for a scammer. The updated divorce filing and paperwork that we paid for has no record of existence. This is now 1.5 years later ...
