I have recently completed the process of arranging a Binding Financial Agreement through O’Sullivan Davies.
It was the worst experience I’ve had to endure in a very long time.
I found that O’Sullivan Davies lacked Integrity.
I experienced issue, after issue, after issue, after issue.
They showed a complete lack of competency throughout the process.
O’Sullivan Davies failed to act upon my instructions, they acted without my instructions, and they even failed to follow their own instructions.
I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience to “Their” process.
O’Sullivan Davies showed a lack of accountability for their actions.
I feel disrespected, ignored, and dismissed.
O’Sullivan Davies has caused me emotional pain and suffering throughout the process.
I am now currently dealing with the Legal Profession Board of Western Australia with regards to the issues and concerns I experienced at the hands of O’Sullivan Davies.

I felt that the other party, who was the Applicant, dictated unreasonable terms of negotiation over the course of my family court matter.

OSD appears to have missed or misunderstood crucial evidence and information.

OSD overlooked or was unable to get disclosure of key facts.

OSD advice was contrary to forensic accountant and commercial law firm.

I no longer feel comfortable recommending OSD.

I was able to negotiate a settlement they couldn't.

In the end, OSD could not secure any agreement they recommended I take (including one agreed to by both parties, signed in court by me and handed to the OP almost 10 months prior to my ceasing working with them). Their recommendation for me was unable to be secured by their own legal representatives.

I had to self represent in my matter to finalise it when funds I was borrowing were exhausted.

OSD blamed their lack of outcome on my ex and his family as they were difficult, and my matter was complex - which I believe are common reasons people end up in family court.

When reviewing my matter in detail, I realised the substantial flaws in my family court case that had gone unnoticed and unaddressed.

OSD takes no responsibility for the poor quality of their work. The experience was expensive, and the advice i received was unsatisfactory.

I am left with substantial debt, including owing a small amount of money to OSD, despite having to defend myself against my ex after they failed to secure an agreement almost a year earlier.

OSD took me to small claims court for a few thousand dollars owing while I waited for a response or resolution to their mistakes, but I was left with not resolving any issues and OSD sidestepping my points of issue. They took no responsibility and will not acknowledge any errors.

Despite the outstanding funds matter settling out of small claims court and the small claim of a few thousand dollars being paid, Osd tried to harm my credit rating by lodging an incorrect claim of a debt with Equifax.

They responsed to my review by choosing to have one of the firms partners gaslight me below in a reply to this review that includes factually incorrect details in relation to their advice and my settlement.

To date, none of the serious issues raised about their handling of my matter have been satisfactorily addressed, and as such, I have chosen to share my experience with this review.

I regret that I did refer a friend, who also has ceased working with this firm for similar reasons, particularly their lack of attention to detail and key factors.

I can highly recommend O’Sullivan Davies, and Nicola J in particular. Family law can be stressful and overwhelming, but Nicola guided me expertly through the process to a very positive result. At first I was a bit concerned that a tier one law firm might be quite expensive, however it was the exact opposite, with Nicola’s expertise resolving this matter far more quickly than someone with lesser ability would have. This was demonstrated with an impressive and complete demolition of the opposition in Court. It was satisfying to say the least. If ever I need legal services again, I won’t go anywhere else.

The worst family lawyers.
A couple of years ago I booked an initial counsalting about my family matter, they first said I need to deposit in their account before the counsaltation, after one hour counseling with a Junior lawyer they sent me hundreds pages of information about family law which I never asked for them and they charged me near $1200 for one hour consultation with a Junior lawyer.
Never trust this firm!! They just take your money!

From my experience they were so focused on litigation and dragging proceedings out solely with the view to increase their costs.

Just the response I'd expected. Deny any association and then express how the firm always behaves in an ethical manner. My documents bound by confidentiality indicate differently. I suggest you leave this alone and take the review in a constructive manner on how to improve your practices.
