I was scammed by Nada VUJAT several years ago and am still hurting. My understanding is that the other partners of this practice behave ethically.

Let me start with the trivial, just to paint a picture of what we are dealing with here:
She charged and was paid $70 for making “alterations” to a draft letter she wrote, after I merely pointed out that the letter was mistakenly addressed to me instead of the intended recipient, a simple clerical error.
My requests for a refund went unanswered.

She routinely engaged me in very lengthy meandering discussions about politics and other irrelevancies, always leading the conversation, only to result in huge bills for long consultations.

Worst of all, she showed fake empathy when I initially approached her, distraught following a most serious medical negligence issue affecting my baby daughter. She could see that I was vulnerable, as I broke down in tears during the initial consultation.

She then led me on a legal wild goose chase which, in retrospect, has almost zero chance of success. At the completion of that very lengthy and expensive process, she then suggested a second wild goose chase over an unrelated matter, with which we duly proceeded to no avail. Simply a money chasing exercise and a very successful one for her.

I am a medical practitioner and this is the sort of behaviour I would expect from a sociopath (she is not that), not a legal practitioner.
Avoid at all cost, especially if you are in a vulnerable position.

It was pure serendipity that bought me in the doors of Emery Partners and into the care of Rebecca Flick and her team. At every stage we went through on this legal journey, the safety and best interest of myself and my children were their focus. Rebecca stood up for me when I had no more fight left and yes that is what you pay a lawyer to do but she did it with care and compassion and professionalism. I will be forever grateful.
