Friendly and probably helpful for some types of people but weren’t a good fit for me. I explicitly explained how mistreatment from other supports in the past had affected me. Told my worker I was going to go it alone but she convinced me to let her stick around just to drop a bombshell saying they were closing my case. No notice whatsoever. Just courts over so so is our casework. It wasn’t over for me and their actions affected my appeal. So just like every other organisation, their actions had harmful effects. I’ve wasted too much time ignoring the harm Canberra “support” services have caused me and my family so I will be speaking out from now on to warn other service users. Bias is strong in the ACT and no one follows Duty of Care policy and procedures.

Thank you! Seriously, thank you! Sara is amazing and clearly passionate about the job. UPDATE: Enrico is now managing my case and he is an absolute legend! ADACAS has some amazing people working there. I really can not thank you all enough!

Contacted ADACAS recently to seek advocacy support for me and my son, who has a disability. Shortly thereafter, I had an hour-long meeting with two lovely staff members that was constructive and useful. I felt respected and that the staff members were genuinely interested in helping me to resolve the issues I needed help with. The meeting was a few weeks ago now and there has not been much movement since, but these things take time I guess. More to come...

For the first time in such a long time, I feel supported and, most importantly, safe. There is a light at the end of this horrific tunnel.

Would rate 0 stars if I could. They are absolutely horrible people who sat there twiddling their thumbs for 2 years and then treated me like I was the bad guy
