We were dealing with 2 legal teams simultaneously for an estate and property conveyancing so we had a chance to compare. Slow or no communication would be my biggest criticism of the McDonaldLeong team although Madeline wasn’t as slow as others. Maybe it’s slow because maybe the seniors have to sign off on every email but that doesn’t excuse them. At one stage we were even sent an email from "Stacy" only to be told, when I enquired by phone, that that her account had been hacked - obviously no one in the office thought it might be a good idea to advise their client base. Thankfully I didn't open the link. As a comparison we had one property in Townsville and one property in Darwin to sell. Funds distribution from date of settlement December 2nd in Townsville 21 days and from date of settlement December 22nd in the NT 2 days.

I was involved in a nasty work accident and first 3 months I was with another solicitor then didn't like where it was headed then went to McDonald and Leong. I'll make it short and sweet, they where what I needed and more. The accident took place at a mine and I was a sub contractor so in other words there was allot to take into consideration and figure out who's percentage of fault it was as it was a plain unfortunate accident. They helped me dramatically and I use them for any legal issues without doubt and I live 1800kms away now.

I had used McDonald Leong Lawyers (Linda Leong) for conveyancing tasks previously and have found them very accurate and efficient. Unfortunately I found their Family Law section (Mary Wallace) is unprofessional and unknowledgable in relation to splitting superannuation and fighting my case. When I directed my complaints to the company owner (Mark McDonald), I was treated with aggression and contempt. I would strongly suggest that you use a more experienced and established lawyer firm for anything more than simple conveyancing.
