I had previously had good experiences with the Legal Services Commission—meeting staff who worked hard to assist me.
However, my recent appointment with an older male solicitor was a deeply unsettling departure from that standard.

From the moment the meeting started, he showed no real willingness to assist. Instead of reviewing my documents carefully or addressing my legal concerns, he questioned why I didn’t return to a previous lawyer—despite appointments being assigned randomly by their own system.
When faced with legal matters he clearly did not fully understand, he diverted into philosophical lectures and jurisdictional debates, completely avoiding the actual issues. His attitude shifted multiple times, oscillating between dismissive detachment and condescending irritation.

Most troublingly, he provided inaccurate and misleading information about external referrals, wasting even more of my time and energy.
Throughout the meeting, he barely glanced at my documents, preferring to posture from a place of superiority rather than offer any real legal advice.
Sitting there for nearly an hour, being talked down to and made to feel foolish, was an exhausting and degrading experience.

I left not only without assistance, but with a sense of deep anxiety—wondering how such individuals, funded by public tax money, can occupy positions meant to serve, yet instead choose to demean and humiliate those seeking help.

This was not merely poor service—it was a blatant abuse of position.
I strongly caution anyone seeking genuine assistance to be extremely careful when dealing with LSC. You may find help—but encounters like this are damaging, demoralizing, and completely unacceptable.

Went there today with my support worker for legal advice to do with my rights as a tenant. Had an appointment with Michael. Was absolutely brilliant,, I left with some decent and very helpful information and a plan for the weeks ahead, and most importantly for me, peace of mind. Property Settlement was alot easier doing it in there. They have listened and helped me a great deal this year with decent Lawyers. If you feel you don't get along with the lawyer then just ring the Legal Services to help. They were very accommodating.

I am very disappointed with the judicial system. Even though I was approved for legal aid, it was very difficult to meet with a lawyer after multiple appointments, and when I finally did, the lawyer was not familiar with my case materials. The lawyer did not ask me about the details of my case but instead issued commands for me to follow. When I presented evidence and communicated my concerns about the lawyer's unprofessional commands, i please for arrange another lawyer for my case ，my legal aid was revoked!

I try to complain and provide evidence the revoke is unreasonable ，however someone tell me legal service commission always did things like that cancelle legal aid whatever you really need lawyer or not, whatever you experience

9/10/2024 There are many benefits in accessing the LSC. The supportive lawyers can provide FREE legal advice; you receive valuable and RELEVANT information for your specific legal issue, and can have a POSITIVE outcome.
