Edit: Emailed them weeks ago for second review, no response. I always received large refunds before, but after using this firm for the first time, my refund was tiny. The accountant forgot to include my work related deductions. She also asked unnecessary personal questions about where I live in Sydney and charged a travel fee even though the appointment was over the phone. I won’t be returning and will have another accountant take a look to ensure I get my proper tax refund.

Friendly, fast and effective tax return service. Can't fault them. They know their stuff and I'm always much more reassured having my tax done by a professional than doing it myself. Even though my returns aren't overly complicated, there are always areas they cover that I wouldn't have given any consideration to. Overall, really great service at a very reasonable price.

I recently had an appointment with Karen Quadrio at H&R Block Castle Hill for my tax return, and I am beyond disappointed. Karen lacked the experience and knowledge I expected from a tax professional. She was rude and impolite throughout the meeting, which made the entire process uncomfortable.

Not only did she fail to provide any valuable guidance, but I also ended up paying more in taxes without any meaningful help from her. To make matters worse, she charged me $320 for work that involved merely entering numbers—something I could have easily done myself. This service was a complete waste of money and time. I would not recommend working with Karen or this branch of H&R Block to anyone. Save your money and avoid the frustration!

Horrible service. Their hours online are wrong to their actual hours. Says they’re open but called multiple times with no answer. Tried to get our returns done and only got one back though we paid for both and they said they “missed it”. Ridiculous and unprofessional.

Terrible! I booked three weeks ago, and I got a call two minutes before my appointment saying they didn’t realize I had an 8 am appointment and couldn't get staffing for it. She said she was supposed to go into the office at 10, but out of the goodness of her heart, she would come in at 9 for me! As if I should be thankful that she’s doing me a favor! How can I trust their office to do my taxes when they can’t even organise their client appointments!

Good experience in 2022, but bad experience in 2023. The accountant was new, didn't enter all the information provided, I needed to followup many times and ask for the report to find the mistakes and the manager fixed them after 3 or 4 months resulting in reduction in my tax bill (almost $1000 less) and PAYG needing to be redone for the future year (again, $1000 less for the next years PAYG). Also got charged more than double in 2023 for the same submission, each deduction was charged as a different category, sometimes the charge was more than the deduction. The manager agreed to negotiate the rate down slightly, but I will not be back.
