Recently I had my SMSF audited by Neil Ashton from SIS Logic. This was the first time I was self-lodging my own SMSF tax return, and likewise first-time having Neil Ashton audit my return.

I initially called Neil on 8th October and left a message. Within 10 minutes he called me back to discuss auditing the return. I told him I was using SimpleFund 360 and was close to finishing but not quite finished.

He sent me the details in order for me to add him as the auditor within SimpleFund 360. Once I had completed the return, I informed Neil it was ready for him to begin the audit process.

Initially he had told me it would take about a week to get my return audited; he probably was allowing some contingency since I’d told him it was my first return and that I’d never used SimpleFund 360 before.

The audit process officially stated on Friday October 11th at 1:47pm and was completed by Tuesday October 15th at 4:44pm. I couldn’t believe how fast and easy the process was working with Neil to do my audit. At times I felt like I was his only client because of how responsive he was to the emails I sent.

There was only one occasion when he took about two hours to respond, and when he did, he apologized for taking so long but said he was tied up with other matters.

For those of you reading this review, thinking it’s too good to be true, I can assure you the above is my experience engaging Neil Ashton from SIS Logic to process my FY 2024 SMSF return.

I neither know Neil nor have I ever met him in real life. However, full disclosure, he did request if I didn’t mind, would I do a review, which I was more than happy to provide. Also, as an aside, I very rarely write reviews, either good or bad.
