We did a fantastic morning half day cruise, first spotted was a couple of whales on the way out, then we got a couple of whales who spent around 90 minutes swimming around the boat coming right up to the boat giving people a fantastic experience and lots of videos and photos, on the way back another couple hung around for a short while, well worth it and the crew and commentary were great as well, tea and cake also provided

We had an absolutely amazing time on our whale watching cruise with Spirit of Hervey Bay! The weather was perfect, the ocean was calm, and the whales really put on a show. We saw multiple pods throughout the trip — breaching, tail-slapping, and even coming right up to the boat. You couldn't ask for a better experience.

The boat was spacious and comfortable, with two main decks and a rooftop viewing area that gave us fantastic views from every angle.

The crew were incredible — super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A big shoutout as well to the driver who picked us up from our accommodation and dropped us off afterward — he was absolutely awesome and made everything really easy from start to finish.

Highly recommend Spirit of Hervey Bay if you're looking for a top-notch whale watching experience!

Absolutely highly recommended to do the day/half whale watching experience. The catamaran is amazing and well maintained, right from the reception counter, staff and crew are super amazing.

Skippy Des was very informative and had a great vibe going when the 🐋 were about to breach, loved his commentary throughout. Refreshments served were pretty good.

Simply outstanding and very greatful that we did have a great time.
Shout-out to the crew in service area who were real gem too, well done all, keep up the great example of teamwork personified.

Our group of 48 adults did the Mary River full day Cruise on Sunday 3rd Nov. What a fabulous day!!! A wonderful vessel that takes large numbers but doesn't feel crowded, great morning tea and lunch included. Very impressed with the whole day - commentary along the way to point out historic areas and points of interest, friendly staff and clean facilities. Everyone had a great day and it's great value. Definitely recommend this cruise.

We had a very good whale watching experience aboard Spirit of Hervey Bay. We saw many whales and their calves breaching, flapping their tails and pectoral fins. One mother and calf swam very close to our boat for some great photos. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We were picked up and dropped off at our motel in a luxurious people mover vehicle. Weather was incredible, nobody would get even close to being sea sick.

Amazing trip the crew and captain were really great. The captain's commentary and boat positioning excellent. 30 mph winds so a little choppy in places but the boat is a catermeran and rides over most small waves. This together with knowledge of the area meant it wasn't an issue.

The boat is large enough to be comfortable and have a range of decks.
Commentary very interesting.
Experienced staff makes sure you see lots of whales.
We saw lots of mums with breaching babies.
Adults fin slapping, tail waving and lunging,
Dolphins and a turtle.
Very enjoyable morning!
