Despite no appointments being available until the next week they were able to quickly see my father and I, assisting us in getting same day passports so we could catch our flight we would have otherwise missed the next day. We were helped by a lovely worker named Linda, and overall all the staff were incredibly efficient and helpful and we have nothing but gratitude for them all.

Came here for doc authentication today. Reached almost 1 hr before my appointment. Things were checked before being given a number. Then 2 mins wait for my turn. Got back the authenticated doc after another 10 mins. Amazing!!! Liam was the one serving me.

This is the kind of efficiency Australia should provide to everyone!!!

Meanwhile, i want to highlight that the online booking is always full. Hardly get a 10-min slot for authentication and apostille. I was so lucky to grab one yesterday when the doc was received.

Based on my wait time today, obviously the service is not fully booked. Please fix the website booking system and provide more such amazing services to taxpayers.

I have to say the service between the Post office where I got my Photos done and submitted the form and the passport office was amazing. I was traveling and needed a quick turnaround. I paid the extra $250 to expedite and was told 48 hours. It was ready in 14! Amazing.
If you are entering from Elizabeth street you have to go up the stairs and it is the middle of the 3 similar buildings. Go up to the 7th floor. You can also enter from Mary street

To be clear, the 1 star has nothing to do with the staff, they were amazing under the circumstances, it's a review of the system itself which is fundamentally broken.

I waited 13 hours in the rain to be told to come back 48 hours later and wait another 5 hours!

This was after waiting 4½ months for the passport to come through and we were travelling in 4 days time.

Again, the staff were amazing but just massively underfunded and under-resourced.

Get your applications in early people!

Picked mine up today right away. I paid extra $105 for a 5 day rapid turn around and it was approved within hours. Don’t even need your old passport to prove ID just any valid photo ID. No queue. Along the way I phoned the query line to check progress and upgraded the fast track processing with them when I realised I might be overseas when the new passport is activated thereby cancelling my current one whilst overseas. Hence opted for the fast track processing. Very simple.

Riva was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process! I needed a passport issued urgently and she communicated timelines, dependencies and risks clearly and I received my passport on time. Pick up was a very smooth process.

Having an appointment here, doesn't mean anything... it is sooooo unorganized that a child could notice. Security is counting numbers, the machine kiosk for putting your appointment booking number doesn't work, people have been waiting for good hour JUST to collect! So, just don't expect things go smoothly. There isn't enough seats for everyone, no toilets available, very slow... what else you need for Australian Passport office 😏

Just a note for anyone coming, don't park your car anywhere that is less than 3 hours. Which you might struggle finding anything close to here.

This place is a miserable experience. Booked an appointment (only available in 2-3 months time), only to be forced to wait well passed the booking time to be seen.
Why even have bookings if they don't see you at the time set?
While it is clear the staff are trying to do their best, every process appears to be designed to devalue your time.
It was eye opening to go to other countries departments in Sydney and have the worst experience at my own countries office. Not to mention, the charges are higher and deliver less.

Go up
