Process is much more efficient than 2019, make sure you fill up the application form online and upload materials in the app before going. 1~2P street parking is available within 5min walking distance.
Walk in, hand in ID/materials, verify, done.

I contacted the consulate because I need help with something for my trip to China next week. Because I spoke English on the phone when I said “hi” the lady automatically assumed I called the wrong hotline and told me “this is the Chinese consulate” then shut the phone in my face. Very rude!!

Never picks up their phone, and I mean NEVER!! Always a long queue with limited staff, make sure you be there early to try to get the simplest task done there. Small time frame for opening as well.

Disappointed with the service. Even if you book online, it still depends on how many people are waiting. So what’s the point of making a reservation?

Very organised process to renew my passport, staffs are generally nice and explains things clearly. Happy with the service.

One suggestion is, the official app doesn’t notify when there’s a massage/update, hope the IT can improve it, or send us the email notification as well.

I have to say the service is perfect. I chose to use parcels to collect my passport but I left a wrong address. after several communication with them, I got their special permission to change my address. They really help me a lot and provide service from my perspective even though thats so complicated for them to deal with it when I cannot be there. Im so appreciate.

Good services. However, really complicated process.
Pro Tip: BRING YOUR LAPTOP!!
and also make sure there is someone at home help to take photo of whatever you need. They have went to digital now. 100% digital. Can not manually write on application anymore. be aware of that.

They also need 48 hours PCR test for entry FYI.

Firstly, we all have to understand that their jobs or duties at the office are nothing beneficial to anyone but just making everyone's life much more miserable. (That's their KPIs)

And that explains why would they have such a super unfriendly working hours during the weekdays for all visitors. (9am - 12pm).

Also, why many people would need to make multiple journey to there to get one simple task done? Not just because people didn't have all the required domcuments prepared but due to they always get told a different set of requirements betweem online & face-to-face at the counter.

Thank you very much China for teaching us a meaningful lesson about your own culture, right before us entering into your country.
