I can see why some people would have a poor experience here when it gets busy but I've had nothing but a good experience all 3 times I've been (one to get an application form and ask questions in person, the second time to lodge, and the third to pick up). The entrance is a bit confusing to find but if you can read numbers, you'll be fine. Lots of other photos have already been posted to show the way up. The only thing I had a little bit of trouble with was finding the ticket machine tucked in a corner. Be aware that you will need to bring cash as there are no electronic payment options available.

Tried to apply for my sister-in-law’s visitor visa to Taiwan and was such a waste of time.

Called ahead and was informed of all the requirements for a Nepal passport holder currently in Australia, so took few days to prepare and print them. Then hubby and I both had to take a day off our full-time work to go there in person with sister-in-law and our young baby, only to be told after an hour that they can’t process for us, and we needed to apply from India?!?!

Even though the applicant is in Australia? Even though we were able to get visa to France from Australia before? Even though Australia had no problem granting her multi-entry visa for 3 years? And even though I called ahead and no one mentioned this?

The consulate only opens 9am-2pm, and seems to enjoy wasting people’s time! I will tell all my friends and relatives to not bother travelling to Taiwan, it’s not worth the trouble.

Rude and impatient over the phone, and highly inefficient with unreasonably long processing times. Should streamline the 5 business days needed to certify a document, I've only heard of certifying documents on the spot. This is the year 2024 not 1984.
Unlike local Taiwanese people, how disappointing

Terrible waiting ticket system.
Shortage of staff.
Impatient in answering questions.
No one answering the phone either between 9am to 2 pm or from 2pm to 5 pm ( which are indicated on their website)
The phone will hang up automatically after approx 1 min on-line waiting.

I wish I could find my answer on the web or from the phone number if you can pick up the phone, keep in mind, everyone waiting there is also spending extra effort and time from their daily tasks to get thru the process or finding answers.

I tried to call the phone number on different days during ‘instructed’ working hours to check a straightforward visa-related question for my family. The phone hangs up after approximately 1 minute of waiting AUTOMATICALLY and I have to ring them again to wait another minute.

I got no luck finding someone on the phone to answer my question so I decided to go to the office directly.

Many people are waiting in the room and I hardly find the ticket machine to get a waiting number. The waiting number was 7x something when I got my number 94. No staff called the ticket number for soooo long (for at least 1 hour) that someone could no longer stand for people cut in the line and shot at the staff.

My fully charged phone drained after I watched random YouTube videos waiting in the room for 4 hours.

I got my question answered impatiently in 5 minutes.

Although I can understand how hard it is for staff working in a staff shortage, it is disappointing and hard to believe this is a national-level office with such experience.

It just feels like dealing with a department serving their obligation duties without worrying about service quality.

Too many things you can improve.

Seems the feedback letterbox hasn’t been checked for a ages.

The customer service is disgustingly appalling. Attempting to call to enquire about the documents i need to bring for my propose before I go, just in case I miss anything. Tried many time over the week, there was just no one would bloodily pick up the phone. Yes, I did call during their stated working hours. After like over 50 attempts, someone finally answered the phone.

For my enquiry, the guy on phone told me he wouldn’t know what I need to bring as I need to do the research first as “he’s so busy that he even haven’t had his lunch yet”!

The website has a problem, when you confirm the submission the application form on line ,it said there is an unfilled item ,which is not correct .!I filled out fully and answered all the questions After checking, It shows your uploaded document oversized. In fact when I upload the document, it showed OK . I have to start again from beginning to fill out everything , it won’t work ! At the end of the day , the same problem appeared again . I think there is a bug in the system.

We went there for driver license translation work, but the staff was not friendly... we prepared all our required documents without causing trouble for them. But the male staff was so impatient to us. Seriously? It was still one hour before the office close, and there were no people waiting in line at the time. I thought we’re come from the same country so they will treat us warmly, but I was totally wrong and disappointed.
