Our family had a plan made with the assistance of Richard in 2022. We were happy with his professionalism.
After this initial plan had run its course, it was time to update to a new plan and contacted Uniting Care once again. I had to start the process over as if I had not been a past client. This was not only odd, but disappointing.
My intake interview was late June 24.
I was advised by phone on October 1st that, ( the team), had decided we were not eligible for their assistance.
No explanation was given as to why.
I do not recommend this organisation as competent to be dealing with highly emotional family situations.

SO are you guys going to address the fact you were harbouring a paedophilic (CHARGED) child worker for the past three years and are continuing to offer family support like it never happened? Like what the actual hell is wrong with your organisation to think allowing a church to run a therapeutic program while this is in the news?

Richard was professional, organised and patient during our mediation session. He was genuine in his interactions and had best intentions of resolving the matter amicably and in a timely manner. More progress was made in 3 hours than the previous 6 months. Highly recommended.

As a community service, considering the cost, considering the sensitivity, and considering the emotions involved in the service, I found Richard to be highly professional, calm, helpful, and rich with experience in brokering a parenting plan. This stuff isn't easy, and I have found that Richard's experience has made for significant progress in a realistic timeframe.

Unfortunately, I would have to agree with the negative reviews here. It was a joke; the parenting plan was definitely biassed towards the female member of the relationship, where my son virtually had no input to the demands placed upon him by the mother of his child, and this (so called) mediation centre.

There was no follow up, phone calls, or anything! The matter of "Family Mediation" should be left to professionals; particularly when children are involved. Hopefully things have changed - my son's mediation was a year ago now & still not resolved.

Had an appointment with shirley wich she cancelled in the last minute,she changed the date for 3 weeks later wich she cancelled a gained due to a 3 day mandatory training wich she should of know prior to organising and getting my hopes up. As I been waiting 9months for this mediation to take place. Then because I tell her that it not good enough that she's cancelled both time beforehand she get her manager Jason to phone me. Wich i think he and shirly need cultural awareness training as they both hopeless. Then halfway Jason starts talking about my extended family saying how he knows them whats that got to do with anything jason . Not very professional as Jason is the manager.

Absolute joke. Disorganised regarding appointments & they were happy to blame me for unattendance when they failed to give me correct appointment dates. Turned up twice for an appointment to find my appointment date was changed. Recieved a letter for refusal of attendance & withdrawl of application, so I phoned administration to clarify issues to be then aruging with the administration lady as she approached my circumstances in a very negative & inappropriate way. Absolutely disgusted in the way this situation was handled. I asked to be apart of this medistion process to recieve help and guidance, however recieved negative feedback with the assumption i was refusing attendance & making poor decisions. I work full time & also study full time, my time management is extremely important & my flexibility is quite minimal with my workload, unfortunately this organisation didnt understand my frustration when turning up for appointments when they were cancelled/rescheduled and didnt cater for my availabilty needs. An apology would have been nice for their misguidance. Certainly don't recommend this mediation process at maroochydore. Really needs to be reviewed & changed, to cater for families and children in a way we deserve to be treated.
