Amazing venue, quite an experience I would highly recommend. You will need a few hours up your sleeve to experience this gallery.
The food options they have here are pretty good to be honest. The food area is great for kids as well as there is a kids park, trampoline heaps of area for kids energy to burn off.

I really wanted this to be amazing but was left underwhelmed and felt like it was overpriced. Went for the best package they had and started very strong with the posh pit experience and being greeted when we got there but then after we were left by our greeter it was just ok. Don’t get me wrong, food was great and service was lovely but for over $500 each you would think that there would be more actual museum experience involved and they would close the day stronger but we basically had to run through the museum unguided and missed most of the major exhibits because of the way it’s a maze and the people attending the exhibits could not have cared less. Could have been so much better as what we did see was great. Do yourself a favour and get the posh pit tickets but don’t waste money on the packages.

Well that was different! Australia's Parliament house meets the lair of a Bond villain, littered with posts of the Louvre.... and reminded me of playing Portal!
Very intriguing. Loved every moment. Cafe food was great, I suspect the restaurants are too. Enjoyed the ferry ride there: I highly recommend enjoying the river on the ferry.

Visited the MONA museum—definitely a unique and thought-provoking experience. The artworks were fascinating, many exploring themes like tension, balance, and more. Just a heads-up: there’s a significant amount of adult content, so it’s not really suitable for kids. One highlight was the confession room—waited about 25 minutes in the queue, but you can wander the museum while you wait, which made it worthwhile.

Most enjoyable art museum I've ever been too. The building is absolutely incredible and all the art is enjoyable and engaging. Bonus seeing some Egyptian stuff too. We took the ferry which was also fun.

I am absolutely obsessed with MONA. From the stunning location on the river, to the incredible staff who make the experience seamless, to the mind-blowing and thought-provoking art collection. MONA is bold, unique, and unlike any other museum in the world. A must-see in Hobart 🖤

Warning for families. There are some interesting exhibitions here but a lot of it is adult content. We walked through with our small children and found it very unfriendly to kids.

If management sees this, the exhibition with the F-word on the wall etc, should have an adult content sign. (The app is informative but unintuitive).

Also, if you’re a person of faith, be aware that the only ideology, orientation and religion portrayed negativity is Christianity. Pentagram on the wall, “God is my enemy”, and male genitals (pen*s) drawn on a picture of a Church. Obviously artists have creative freedom, it’s just sad that no other belief system is targeted this way throughout the exhibition, only Christianity. Hard to understand how that represents equality. The exhibits are also generally very dark, so beware if you have a family. (The “In The Beginning” exhibition was interesting, and to be fair did have Christian themes, but it was not a counter to the overly anti-Christian sentiment at the museum).

The Tasmania Museum and Art Gallery in the Hobart CBD is way better for families and free.

The staff were generally very friendly at Mona and the boat ride over enjoyable.

The bundle ticket, covering return ferry rides and museum entry, is well worth the price. The staff were friendly and accommodating, letting me switch to an earlier ferry and museum slot. The museum lives up to its name, blending classic and eclectic art pieces. The architecture itself feels like a work of art, making the entire experience a masterpiece.
