I looked on the net for a supplier for a 4x4 to tour Fraser Island. K'gari if you prefer.
Called up a couple, emailed a couple, I then came across Merve from Rainbow Beach 4x4 Hire.
Very friendly, very knowledgeable, great prices, videos for info on Fraser. One on one in person advising you on tides, things to see and do.
Had a great time on Fraser,
Merve's input was also very much appreciated by my partner.
She was nervous up till we had time with Merve who answered and discussed all her questions .

We rented a Land Cruiser from Merv at Rainbow Beach 4 x 4 hire. The vehicle was fully kitted out for the job of driving on the beach and sand tracks of K’Gari. Merv gave us an itinerary for the three days which was very helpful and made sure we had seen all the essentials turtles dingoes champagne pools Eli Creek lake Mackenzie the lakes and Marino Wreck . It was so much fun. Mervs instructions and video prepared us for something very different than what you expect.
Highly recommend this adventure.

Renting our 4wd with Merve has been the best decision. I highly recommend using him as your provider too!

The booking process was smooth, Merve was always responsive and answered all of my question and provided great tipps. Picking up the car was also no issue at all. He took the time to explain everything in detail and then we were on our merry way. Following his 3 golden rules, we didn’t have any issues during our adventure. The car was in great running condition and very spacious for 2 people!

We also rented camping equipment from Merve, which was all in good shape. Next time I would probably bring my own mat though, as the one provided (1cm think foam mat) was too thin for our taste.

But i can’t stress enough that you won’t be disappointed when renting from Merve.

Merv is fabulous. Car was great! We had seen other people struggling with rental cars not actually equipped for K’Gari but not us! Lizzy was our car and she was fabulous. Merv looked after us, suggested itinerary and made sure we had the best time. 5 stars

We rented a four-wheel drive from this individual and unfortunately had a very negative experience. The rental process felt more like being micromanaged than being a customer. He imposed excessive restrictions on where we could drive—even on legal beach routes—and dictated speed limits as if he controlled the roads. The tone and behavior throughout were controlling and demeaning, making the trip stressful rather than enjoyable. I would not recommend renting from him, especially if you're expecting a respectful, professional, and flexible rental experience.

We've had the best time in Fraser Island! Definitely the best option to explore the island (beach higway and inland tracks in the safest way!!).

The Toyota Landcruiser hired did the job with 0 problems driving in soft sand and dunes around the island.

I want to highlight the great work of Marve taking care of these autos and welcoming us from the first moment. His explanations and itinerary suggestions were incredibly helpful and we enjoyed our driving experience, thank you!! 🙂

We rented a four-wheel drive from this person, and the experience was extremely unpleasant. He is unprofessional and treats customers with no respect. Rather than providing a rental service, he imposes his own rules, dictates where and how you can drive (even on legal beach routes), and even tries to control your speed as if he owns the road. Renting from him felt less like hiring a car and more like being micromanaged and humiliated. I would strongly recommend avoiding this rental service.
