I absolutely understand why this organization has the low rating it does. Not only are the staff incredibly rude on the phone but they just give out a bunch of excuses to not help you. If you are truly someone suffering through a difficult situation don't reach out to this group unless you want to be humiliated until you're told your situation isn't bad enough to help you.

They are the only legal services in my county that could represent me and did for about a month and then dropped me, in the letter it was due to the issues of my case that were complete fiction that was the main reason I was getting a lawyer and my mother was told it was because of my mental health, which was pretty stable but given the legal issue I would cry a lot when talking about it and this made the worker uncomfortable noticeably as she hung up the phone typically when I did so and fast and I believe they need mental health awareness training or more if they had it as well as more people working there, better educated as because I was the first and only person to appeal my charges, or whatever they are, as far as anyone else ever has here in 40+ yrs and no one could help me at a point and constantly misinterpreted what I said as a personal attack or threat to report them just when I asked for the supervisor I spoke to and other resources to try to find an answer to my question as well I was receiving no representation I was still receiving some consultation of a couple words before hanging up and paperwork help but when did not get the core concept she hung up on me rudely and spitefully and refused to take any of my calls after that despite me trying to explain or both email and phone that she misunderstood and since they are the only hope for services in my area they should not be allowed to drop clients for the reasons that they knew they were already have the problems or definitely not because of mental health which I am reporting to the Ada unless i happened to hear back with something anything more than telling me I have to accept the decisions and procedures of this legal system that I am actively being possibly put onto the streets homeless because of despite spending my entire life working on a career and having four jobs just because eviction laws changed for 2023 and they won't accept I need accomodations for housekeeping which I have in place with insurance if they'd accept that and then id have a worker but since I'm considered to be in an unsafe unstable hostile environment weren't talking about my actual apartment just the company in my landlord who made false police reports against my 67 year old widowed mother that are completely impossible considering the circumstances but was not informed of her hearing and my face in jail time because of all this. But mid Penn is the only option to fight my housing issues and because of their decision to drop my case I have suffered as well as my mother has suffered incredible amounts of emotional and mental abuse from my housing, Oakdale Estates owned by Monarch management btw, and I consider this also elder abuse as their neglecting abuse towards her from my housing.

The lady I talked to was extremely nice and caring. She tried to do whatever she could to help me but unfortunately my situation wasn't the greatest one to be in. I'm very grateful for just being able to talk to someone if nothing else and I will definitely turn to them in the future should the need arise. I would definitely recommend them to everyone I know needing help but getting turned down left and right due to lack of money. In a hopeless world they can definitely shine a ray of hope on you even if just having someone who will actually listen and try to understand your situation. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

It would be nice to give negative stars on reviews....This place is a waste of time and disprectful and doesn't know law I once had this place help with a female friend I know they have no manners at all needs to be shut down the way they talk to their clients could be possible law suite how they wanna argue and downgrade people they represent is extremely poor

Income based legal aid for civil courts. I have had the pleasure of being a client here for multiple reasons, unfortunately since Marsha represented me in a PFA case. I would not change it for the world through because Marsha and her paralegal Lynn are just amazing people who put their everything into your case. I can't thank Marsha enough for everything she has done for me in the past few years. It is legal aid for low income, but they do their job above and beyond. Of all the lawyers I have done business with, they exceed all of the rest by a landslide. We need more people in the world like Marsha and Lynn. You ladies are the best!

Hard to reach anyone on phone due to COVID-19 restrictions and their hours of operation and staffing. But they are resourceful and will help you if you qualify for their service
