I took my 1 and a half year old infant up to AHC because she had croup. Upon arrival to AHC the front desk lady said that she had to do a RAT Test on my daughter. I politely declined and stated that she does not require a RAT Test to be done because she is already in discomfort and was in respiratory distress. The front desk lady responded in a defensive demeanour and said โ€œWHY NOTโ€ I responded to her and said that we are no longer required to do RAT Tests when asked and that it will make no difference to how you treat my daughter. When I was let through to get my daughter seen to, we had a lovely doctor and nurse helping us through it and they were very professional. When the night doctor arrived I overheard the handover from the female doctor to the male doctor. The female doctor informed the male doctor that I had declined the RAT Test. He immediately responded with โ€œWHAT! WHY DID HE DECLINE THE RAT TEST? SHE COULD HAVE CROVID (Croup Covid) the female doctor then asked me why I declined the RAT Test and I responded by saying I have already told the nurse and also informed her that I could hear the male doctor complaining about me. She then went and informed him.

If I say no to a RAT Test, you should not question why I decline it. Medical staff do not have authority over patients and do not have powers to question their patients on their personal beliefs. I do not appreciate the way this was handled by medical staff.

I visited the emergency department recently

The nurse on duty was a wonderful lady. Her bedside manner and rapport were beautiful and it made me so at ease while I was unwell. She reassured me and also made humorous conversation which I loved. She listened to everything I had to say and made sure I could have treatment. I was able to get some treatment which helped drastically and left a couple hours later. Her approach made a true difference to my recovery.

The doctor that attended my case was also thorough and polite, ensuring to check all of my symptoms and let me know what he was doing at different times.

I want to thank the staff very much for making my stay a positive one while I felt so unwell. I appreciate the excellent quality of care I received.

Whilst holidaying in Albany, I needed medical attention at ED. The nursing staff, Lee and Sarah - from Ravensthorpe - were outstanding with clear, courteous and professional conduct. The doctor who attended me was Tom. Top class, engaging and respectful. Thank you team.

We had to present at Emergency as my son broke his arm. We had 2 Dr Alexโ€™s on that night and they were fantastic with us and our son. Explained everything they were doing the whole time in and out of theatre. Very patient and had a great sense of humour. All the staff that night were fantastic. And the staff during a long line of follow up visits.. fracture clinic staff, dr, students, X-rays and therapists have been fantastic. It was a very difficult case and everyone was so patient and thorough. So thankful!

We were on our annual Albany trip for Christmas (from Perth) and had to go to the hospital twice in one day haha. Once for our toddler and once for myself. The staff were AMAZING. Caring and professional and got us seen quickly. Superb care ๐Ÿ‘Œ Special thanks to Mikki who looked after our toddler and myself on her same shift!

I went in for an impromptu maternity check. Iโ€™m having my baby in Perth, so am not a patient there, but the staff could not have been more helpful. I really appreciate the reassurance they gave me and for taking the time to see me. Thank you Vanessa and Helen!

Highly unprofessional my mother called regarding my father's health was told they were too busy to talk call back in half an hour so we drove in to take her to the hospital to see my father and find out what was going on. To be told it was resting time 12 till 3 it was 12.05 never told when she called earlier. She couldn't see him told he would be staying in. Nurse didn't really seem to know what was happening and wanted me to tell my father we would not see him today as he has dementia and would be very upset. When they were the ones who did not relay the correct information. Disgusting treatment towards elderly patients my mother should be told what is going with her husband. And just because my father has dementia doesn't mean he is not a human, he should be treated like a human with compassion and patience and we should be informed about his treatment and condition.
