This was my first time I had required the services of a Lawyer other than the purchase and sale of property. Initially I was very apprehensive with engaging the services of this company as they were situated hundreds of kilometres away. Had the company - 'Anderson Fredericks Turner' not been highly recommended by an associate on mine, I would have been relying on picking a Solicitors from the Internet.
From my initial telephone contact, (which probably lasted some 15 to 20 minutes), it was clear that the recommendation was right on the money.
Contact was regular, either through e-mail; phone; or video conference. The anticipated process, costs, and time frame was explained firstly over the phone, and followed up through e-mail. All communication was prompt and professional, and at no time did I feel lost in the process. Probably what impressed me most, was the personal and professional interaction that I had with various members of the Company, from clerical staff, several Solicitors and eventually a Barrister.

I do not recommend this Law firm (QPS matter).

Engaged AFT in 2018. I felt I needed time before writing this so that it was made in a balanced state.

I understand there is extensive experience from Prosecutions that A.A brings to the table. That was the reason I finally decided on and engaged the firm. There was an important service that was discussed and quoted, but did not end up getting provided. I felt it should have been.

Conduct issues were raised from the start, i.e. intentional misleading from QPS and subsequently Prosecutions. From start to finish I didn't feel supported in that respect. Ultimately I was going to be passed on to someone else in your firm. I did not want those issues left in the dark, and I wanted you to raise them. I was offended at the passing on attempt.

The fragile and emotional state a court case can have on a person (PTSD etc.) could have been considered more in my view. Some "bedside manners" seemed to be learned and applied more from a prosecutor at times, rather than from a defense perspective i.e. supportive.

Lastly, there was a requirement of funding for future court date/s that would have been months away. I explained time would be needed but that funds could be raised. That wasn't acceptable though, and I was on my own.

Really disappointing. I really hoped it could have worked out better with this firm. 3 stars because A.A and AFT did progress the case and did ultimately help. Thank you for going out of your way to meet on a public holiday, and for meeting personally at other times.
