New passport issued and fails at Customs so called "smart gates" every time! (6 times in 1 year !) Resulting in delays and being removed from line, examined and questioned in front of other travellers.
Australian Passport Office indicate they are unable to rectify issue for the remaining 9 years of passport life.
This is yet another example of Govt. agencies ongoing inability to conduct a basic and standardised level of quality control and service.

Exceptional service from the lovely, friendly, efficient, helpful, Penny 🫶
For the lack of parking - anywhere in the vicinity - minus points. Any public service organisation should have sufficient parking, not a few 15 minute car spots that require a driver to keep driving around in a loop hoping to get lucky.

Unfortunately the Australian passport office’s follow through with their own promises is what caused me to come here and put a bad rating. I cannot believe the unprofessionalism to be honest. I live in Armenia since 2021 and finally needed a passport renewal. My father gets on the phone to the passport office to check and see what’s possible, how we can get a new passport for me etc - and they tell him it’s possible for me to apply online and the passport will be sent all the way to my home address instead of traveling to Moscow or Istanbul. So I go ahead and do everything online which is expected of me, the website is a little backwards but overall was a smooth process. Then I get an email from the Moscow Consulate saying it’s ready to come pick up and I can organize a courier or friend to also come get it. On what grounds the Australian passport office suddenly plays dumb and acts like this is all they can do…? I’m just not sure…but they put me in an extremely dangerous situation. There is no such thing as a reliable courier between Moscow and Gyumri, Armenia. Even if there was, why should I suddenly foot the bill for even more than $600 all up? I wasn’t aware I’d have to do that! Added to this I now have only 2 weeks to find a solution, they didn't even offer to help extend the period over which my passport can be collected. Just a total disregard for everything. Incredibly embarrassing for them and since I can’t just get on the phone from here, and my dad already tried so many times to understand why they changed their decision to no avail, I’m simply doing the only thing I can do. I absolutely can’t stand writing bad reviews but you left me no choice, shameful behavior from the institutions in my home country.

Sent off to London Consulate in February for my husband's renewal passport, back and forward with emails. In June they said the photos were the British standard and needed new photos for Australian standard, got them done in a day and sent to London. Last night received the receipt for the fee £254.00, then received another email saying they can't find any application? Rang the Consulate today, very arrogant person called Phil on the other end of the phone, saying if we've received receipt then the documents are being scanned to Canberra. Asked when he will finally receive his passport he said it takes 6 weeks. I asked if he could check his system to verify, but he said he can't. I said I think it is wrong for them to take the fee before the passport has been despatched. Asked for number in Canberra, said he has no details, I can leave feedback or he can end call. I hope no one ever needs the consulates help in an emergency and get him on the phone. We had a massive backlog here in UK, took mine about 10 weeks, but they've cleared it here, why can they not get a grip in OZ.

The staff at the Canberra passport office were absolutely fantastic. I had issues with my passport and spoke with several staff over 10 days and they were always helpful and courteous. I really appreciated their time and effort

Applied two kids passports in the end of April/beginning of May. One came back in 4 weeks, the other still waiting as of now. We have called 5-6 hours a day for the past week or so and got told a different thing by each person. Today we give up, we fly on Monday the 4th, and if we don't get the passport when we take the 2.5 hour drive up to Canberra, I don't know what to do.

Very disappointed in passport renewal process. A simple child renewal (only a new photo, no details changed) has taken over 13 weeks!!! And still waiting.. no update from the processing team, call centre is useless as they don't have any communication with them. All they do is 'escalate on the system' which everyone needs by the time you give them benefit of the doubt! Now, if its even ready, we will have to collect from office as our travel date is too close for postage. 👎👎👎👎
Msg to APO: double your staff again if thats what it takes! Shocked at unacceptable lack of service for a government agency!!!!
