Partner & I were advised by Bellmac that they were acting for both buyer & seller! Whilst this is not illegal in WA, Bellmac asked us to sign a form to acknowledge this. Not at all comfortable with this situation we declined and terminated Bellmac Settlement's services. I have copied below extract from WA government website about this scenario.....

...is recommended you choose your own settlement agent or lawyer, who is not also providing conveyancing services to the other party. If a conflict of interest arises during the settlement which would place one party’s interests above another’s, the settlement agent would be forced to withdraw service from all parties.....
