Laverty Macksville were so respectful and comforting. And I needed that, desperately. From start to finish, Laverty worked as one team to support me and my family, and did so with seamless respect and dignity for my mum and the occasion.
I'd been my mum's defender and protector forever, and at 66 I'd been caring for mum in my home through her demented and most vulnerable years. So when Laverty arrived to take mum's body away I was about to be separated from "my mum" for the first time in a long time.
Sam and Darren arrived at our home and were a picture of respect and dignity. As my grief was growing into horror at the impending separation, Darren looked me in the eye and said, “We’ll take good care of your mum”. And I knew then that he and Sam would treat my mum with the dignity and respect that was so obviously part of who they are and what they do. So I was finally able to let mum go.
Then Mandy took over the arrangements with remarkable efficiency and compassion. All I had to do was come to terms with my grief, and Mandy helped me there too. Mandy asked favours of others so we could cremate mum same afternoon as her service, just 3 working days after mum died. Mandy was efficiency and compassion in action.
And Jules, the flower lady... There were many burials that week and flowers were in short supply. But ever the creative, Jules went to her own garden and direct to her suppliers to create a magnificent tribute to my dear departing mum.
And the result... the send-off for my mum will comfort me the rest of my life here. God Bless you Mandy, Sam Darren, Michael and Jules.

We engaged Bernard Laverty Funerals to lay my father-in-law to rest. Given we live in Townsville and it was his wish to be buried in Nambucca Heads, it made the process more complicated. Mandy and Annabelle were fantastic though in making the process as smooth as possible. Due to us not being able to sit down early in the process and have a face to face meeting, they went above and beyond through email contact and phone calls to ensure every want we had was met, and last minute changes we requested were no problems at all. Their professionalism and understanding in such a trying time in our lives was sincerely appreciated. The end result was a funeral and interment that both met our needs and made us feel supported. Thank you very much for all you've done for us.
