Don't use Michael Giles as a solicitor if you want to win. This law firm is very unprofessional. Michael was rude and dismissive every time we tried to talk to him. We tried to give him information to help our case but he never listened.
He made errors in court which included making up what his client does for work to the judge. We complained to a member of his staff about his nonchalance, who obviously passed it on to him because he inadvertently complained about us TO US at our next meeting. "I had a guy the other day who was upset because I didn't know what he does for work! I don't go home and think about him all day!".
A bit more care towards his clients would have gone a long way.
We were quoted $60000, but luckily we ended up transferring to another firm through legal aid. We were finally listened to and treated professionally, and even as a full paying client, the entire case only cost us $6k. I don't know how we could be so grossly misquoted.
Bluewater legal also billed us for $10,000 which was paid from our trust account. We requested an itemized bill which they are required to supply and we got a very broad bill which was not itemized as requested.
To top things off, once we were done with this firm, we also got phishing emails sent to us requesting requisition of funds. I called the firm to ask them if it was legitimate and they said no, it's a scam and that they're aware it's been sent to everyone. No apology.

The receptionists never passed on our messages and I think we called about 4-5 times over the course of a week, each time we needed to get in contact with Michael, just to get a call back.

Overall our experience was that this firm is incredibly unprofessional. We did not feel confident that we would win our case with them on our side.
