My mortgage broker recommended Robert to me when I said that I need help understanding the strata report of a property I was considering, and the few solicitors I knew wouldn't help with that.

After walking me through it and giving me advice on what risks I might be looking at, and suggesting options to mitigate them, it made sense to have him as my solicitor for the actual property purchase.

The purchase was close to Christmas. I needed everything to go very fast, but I also needed to make sure that I'm not screwed while trying to go too fast. I wanted to go as fast as possible, but if the seller contract has issue, pause and try to fix it or even cancel the whole thing. Robert didn't have any issues addressing both sides of priorities.

He continued helping me with all the questions I had. And he kept an eye on the paperwork, asking for modifications when he spotted things that I shouldn't allow (things that I wouldn't know by myself), and being pragmatic when things can be allowed (like adding additional documents to the contract after mutual agreement).

I imagine that when dealing with legal advice, you worry that the solicitor will either not care about you at all and just process paperwork or will take forever to do due diligence. With Robert, I did not need to worry about either.
