The food was truly exceptional. Every dish was a flavorful masterpiece, reflecting the chef's expertise and passion. Meeting the chef was a highlight, as he generously shared insights about the dishes. However, the service was not on par with the food. While the staff was polite, they seemed a bit overwhelmed and lacked the expected knowledge for a five-star experience. Despite this, the overall culinary experience was impressive.

Dined in for dinner and everything we ordered was delicious! Just wished the scallops were bigger and evenly seared, but the flavours were delightful. Staff were attentive and polite. The restaurant had a cosy atmosphere. Menu was limited but most items were executed well. Would happily recommend!

That’s a hair in my takeaway coffee cup. I felt disgusted and tried vomiting. I ordered a takeaway coffee and went to my car. I was driving so wasn’t pay attention to the cup and only felt and saw the hair after I almost finished my coffee. The hair stuck in between the cup and it sticked out as I tried to sip the last bit of my coffee and felt it in my mouth then I took a look and there’s a hair sticking out 🤢🤮

We had lunch here and it was really lovely.

We had crispy cauliflower with kimchi mayo and heirloom carrots for entree. Both dishes were delicious and cooked perfectly, the cauliflower had a coating that was lightly crunchy and the flavour was superb.

I had roasted celeriac as my main and it was delicious and perfectly cooked, my friend had the Barramundi and she said hers was amazing and perfectly cooked as well.

The atmosphere and surroundings was relaxed, and seating comfortable.

Service was good overall, although a little hit and miss. We didn’t have serving implements for our entrees and the server tried clearing our dishes before we were finished. Service was a bit unsophisticated for the type of restaurant it is, but overall friendly, efficient and accommodating.

If you eat plant based there are some delicious meals to choose from, more creative and unique than many restaurants in Canberra. It was perfect for lunch but wouldn’t be enough food for me as a dinner option.

I visited Braddon Merchant a few weeks ago and had the best dining experience in Canberra, to be honest. The food was amazing, and I was delighted with Maia's professionalism and attention to detail. Coming from a hospitality background and having worked in a high-class environment, I must say that Maia's customer service skills and the food at Braddon Merchant are underrated. This place deserves more hype! For dinner, I had Snapper/Salmon, fennel ice cream, and a bespoke cocktail. I heard they have a new menu, so I can't wait to be back to try the new options.

We went for the chef’s selection menu and was pleasantly and amazingly surprised! It’s really simple honest food cooked well. Beef steak was amazing and I had to order another chocolate mousse after a long dinner. I can’t wait to go to Canberra just to eat here! Wow just wow!!

We had an overall enjoyable experience here with pretty good food (we ordered the 3 course meal) in a relaxed setting.
We wanted to like this place more but it fell short in a number of respects, relating to service. It took forever for them to take our orders and to deliver our cocktails - it was generally difficult to get anyone's attention. It was evident that they were too busy fiddling around with silly wine bottle gadgetry more than plain old good service. We would be happy to try Braddon Merchant again in the future, but they need to focus on getting some basics right.

What a hidden gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Lonsdale Street. We ordered the beetroot salad, squid ink pasta and lamb ragu. Every dish was delicious and full of flavour. Service was friendly and it was lovely sitting outside on a warm night. We're going back next week.
