Can’t speak highly enough of Caxton regarding assistance to support my parents through an elder abuse situation earlier this year. Really appreciate that they could spend some time with me. I did research their website prior if they could assist me in my queries, indications were they could and when I called seeking an appointment I was very descriptive. unfortunately, It appears my matter is too complex and they were unable to help. In the alternative, I need to seek private legal representation, spend hundreds and thousands and go through more mental fatigue to obtain ‘natural justice’.

I did feel I perhaps was more “interested” in the subject matter / statutory law at times, but it’s a free service and you can’t really complain about people willing to give you their valuable time at no cost to yourself.

Nevertheless on not being able to assist in the matter, the two gentlemen that sat with me were polite and welcoming, even if we were on differing views of the law being referred too.

Only thing I have to perhaps say, is although the service is there, I don’t feel anymore “informed” or “assisted” than I was prior. Disheartening because I came prepared with a lot of material hoping to have some direction to move forward.

This is a legal support centre who understands the needs of the community and provide professional and just support to those who need, particularly the people who can’t afford expensive private lawyers.

The receptionist took information from me and said somebody would ring me back. Even though the person who rang me back would have had general information from the receptionist on my matter, the legal representative had no knowledge at all about what I asked her. She said she would find out information for me and ring me back. She never rang back. It was just a total waste of my time. I even wondered if she had any qualifications at all.

They're very good at reading out other lawfirms phone numbers, do they actually do anything themselves, except talk on phones?
