We engaged CBC Lawyers Townsville to complete the conveyancing on a house. When CBC presented us with the Settlement Statement there were two glaring errors which represented an $1138 over-payment. We emailed them with a detailed explanation of the errors. We discussed the calculations and over-payment error at a meeting the next day. CBC presented us with another Settlement Statement which was again wrong. We requested another meeting, before our financial deadline, and was told the company Principal would reach out to us. We had to call reception on the day of the deadline and was told he was busy conducting training. Due to the financial deadline, we sought other advice and then committed financially. We were then contacted by the Principal of CBC Lawyers, by phone, and was told he had checked the Statement and it was now correct. No concessions were offered for their ordinary service. Not recommended.

My experience using CBC Lawyers Conveyancing services to sell a property was unfortunately less than satisfactory in comparison to other Conveyancing services I have used. I did not feel the level of trust or confidence in the services provided to me on a regular basis throughout the process. This is primarily due to responsiveness to correspondence, timeline for provision of key documents and attention to detail in general.

I also must mention, as it is not now nor was it displayed on the firm web page, that a 5% sundry charge will be added to the 'fixed fee' for Conveyancing services. This was also not outlined in the first letter to client, also called initial correspondence, but I was later advised (day of settlement) it forms part of the approx added outlays estimate under professional costs and expenses.

Do yourself a favour and get in contact with the CBC team, they communicate well, they are on point with their advice and Joshua and his team are easily the best at what they do.
