Cornford-Scott Lawyers was highly recommended by a number of parties and were subsequently engaged as estate administrators of a family member’s estate.

Whilst I’m not a novice dealing with professional firms, I was surprized and disappointed on a number of levels.

Managing and administrating the estate was not an inconsequential piece of work for the firm, so I expected the curtesy of an introduction phone call – which didn’t happen; and the wait for the first piece of written correspondence was weeks in the making.

Probably the most unanticipated part of the service was the somewhat superior tone of the lawyer assigned to our family file, both in written correspondence and during the occasional return phone call (a call which was notably never ever returned on the same day….).

Ultimately the business of the estate was finalised but not without leaving me wondering how hard it is to provide a legal service which is professional, respectful and where the client senses that they are truly valued.
