The staff are cheerful, cheeky, and courteous like in the golden, olden days. The staff are attentive to customers demeanour, dress code and don't mind acting as "counsellors" when customers maybe feeling a bit down when their numbers don't come up, again, or come in looking a bit shabby in attire and need some attire or couture upgrade hints. The magazine racks are always well stocked with glossy magazines of the mega rich and famous, celebrities, royals, actors, sports icons, prestige motors cars, anybody who thinks they are somebody, and anything that sparkles after a good wash and polish, and those who like bling and being in the public eye for the right or wrong reasons and who are not short of a "cracker or two" (that's millions, tens of millions, billions of "green lettuce"), that can bring tears to one's eyes and comment from staff "would you like a tissue or two, dear to dry your eyes". The Lotto counters are always well staffed by knowledgeable staff who are across who won what from where the night before, and counters are cleaned after the Scratchy coupon rubbing frenzies that can see reward for effort if enough Scratchy's are purchased. The news agency is well populated by patrons eager to donate to charity via Lotto, again. The location and appeal of the agency (not to be confused with "The Agency" at Langley) means local "colourful" characters are regularly seen loitering in the street outside admiring the occassional Ferrari's, McLaren's, Rolls Royces, Maserati's Lamborghini's, Bentley's, Porsches, Audi's, Mercedes, even MG's and vintage VW's..... that adorn the curb side nearby, on school holidays, long weekends, race or GP days. Characters who like to engage in deep philosophical or day's headlines, discussions or light banter, usually just before closing time when staff are frantically trying to close shop and give the hint to these cherised customers that it's time to close shop. Last but not least the newsagency is the local hub for catching up with local gossip, friends, newcomers, future potential date prospects, check whether it's pension day or Melbourne Cup week and "whose who" making the waves in the local social scene. Probably the most endearing aspect of the news agancy staff is that after the "job is done" at the end of a long day they occassionally say in that velvet smooth voice (must be after hours of rehearsal and training) to the regulars - "See ya, when I see ya." to which the regulars often reply, "next time between the mega draws don't forget some winning numbers for my coupons." After the newsagency posters are taken down, the doors locked, the lights turned off, the staff leave at the end of another day in the media, stationary, cards world of "more is more". Then the next day the whole news agency performance starts again and the customers pile in and out happier than they came. Wow, now that's a news agency with attitude.

Really disappointed that on a Sunday, where the newsagents in
Cowes are supposed to be open until 12 pm, the newsagents in Cowes, are already closed before 11 am!!
Not right and false advertising.
Not happy at all!!
