When you come across a conveyancing team with a near 5 star rating, usually this would indicate smooth sailing if you were to engage them.

Unfortunately, we have completed settlement on a property as buyers and feel that any service that was contractually agreed upon wasn't met.

From the initial correspondence, I was dealing with Ann and Chamalka. As my husband and I were in the middle of travelling down the East Coast of Australia, all of our correspondence was always cc'd with one another, as we were travelling in different vehicles.
Unfortunately on multiple occasions we found ourselves later catching up on information that had been missed, as the correspondence trail had not been replied to all. This had to be brought to their attention, and even then it sometimes slipped.

We completed our initial client information (costs agreement, purchase information sheet etc) and sent this back the next day to the team. Three weeks later we get an email requesting that we action the email, as they had not received it. I had to pull over driving to action this request immediately, as I was certain that we had actioned it.
We had, and forwarded that same email back to Chamalka. Chamalka did apologise for the oversight, but this should have been a clear indicator of times to come if something as simple as our client costs agreements had been misplaced.

It came to reviewing more documentation such as title searches, land sizes etc. When I reviewed the material, there were three different sizes for the one plot of land. I brought this to Chamalka's attention where effectively we were told to get a surveyor out at our expense, which was to then further delay settlement again. It did not seem that they were acting in our best interests what so ever, and what was even more disappointing is that they didn't pick this up, I brought it to their attention.

We chose to get optional searches, which we paid for but never received any correspondence on these searches, nor was given any type of explanation as to why we could / have not received them.

At this point, you can imagine we just wanted our dealings to be over and done with. I have more examples of their inability and incompetence, but I feel this paints a very clear picture already.

Dealing with Debbie Hutton Conveyancing unfortunately was nothing but a headache, and has cost us financially in the end (thousands due to surveyor costs).

While the initial dealings were meaningful and provided information was helpful. When the going got a bit tricky as part of the conveyancing process there were challenges in reaching and getting access or responses. Some aspects of the process felt as though the conveyancer and the team's were not working for me. In couple of instances even got threatening messages. The whole experience has been very uncomfortable. I would hesitate to recommend their services in the future.
