I was invited to attend a mediation with my ex, a therapy client of this therapist. She interviewed me for an hour to hear my genuine and serious concerns, then interviewed my ex for an hour. A few days later the ‘agreement’ appeared in my email that had no resemblance to any of my discussion with her and did not address any of my concerns. I had not seen the content of the ‘agreement’ prior to Ms Barton ‘issuing’ it, and I certainly did not suggest or agree anything within the document as a way forward. I had certainly not signed anything or put my name to it. When I responded with my concerns, and the fact I did not agree with her conclusions, I was brushed off and blamed for not participating. I have been told that a therapist running a ‘mediation’ for their own client is ‘conflict of interest’. So in all, I did not feel ‘heard’, did not feel my serious concerns were listened to, had an ‘agreement’ thrust upon me (that bore no resemblance to reality), and was thoroughly dismissed by Ms Barton when I questioned the results. Avoid ‘mediation’ through this therapist.

Every time I see Darleen I walk away feeling understood, validated and NORMAL! She is amazing at her job. She just gets people! She even knows people she’s never met and can give advice on them/their behaviours etc. Darleen is honest and non-judgmental, warm and caring. It’s a tough job she does but she does it effortlessly.

When it comes to family counselling, Darleen is the best! She has brought me and my husband back to respect and love. Thank you Darleen

WHEN IT COMES TO CHILDHOOD TRAUMA.. SHE VICTIM BLAMES!
She victim blames! The phrase "let's try and see it from your parents point of view" was Darleens GO TO LINE! She is old and trying the younger generation to see it from their point of view.
