I'd had several IVOs taken out against me by my ex-partner then withdrawn in the process of property & children negotiations over 5 or so years. With the most recent - there were four "technical breaches" of an interim IVO.
Ennes Marcellus from the Broadmeadows office managed my expectations on the criminal matter like a UN hostage negotiator.
On court day, Ennes moved amongst the courtroom stakeholders with confidence, and he guided me towards the better-than-expected end result by ensuring magistrate and prosecutor read between the lines.
There appeared to be some ups and downs and a little miscommunication at times - but that was my own insecurities presenting themselves. As part of my insecurities, I misunderstood confidence and in-depth knowledge at times for arrogance - but Ennes moved between prosecutors, clerks and court bench with ease and his trusty tablet computer. I'm sure Ennes made the prosecutors feel good about the ultimate decision also - it was amazing to watch.
Ennes was extremely organised and knew my case (dates, names, times) virtually verbatim. He didn't walk around with an awkward massive file of jumbled correspondence / paperwork (which also initially made me wonder)- which I'd become used to dealing with other lawyers. Discussions with him quickly allayed any suspicions he wasn't prepared - he knew my case inside out.
