BEWARE OF THIS LAWYER EVEN IF YOU GET HIM THROUGH LEGAL AIDE! HE ALSO GOES UNDER "TRANSITION LAWYERS". I have noticed that he isn't even smart enough to get the family members on here to change their names (so taken that his wife and other family members are upping his ratings to 3.4 stars)
This lawyer has cost me precious time with my children due to HIS mistake!!! He put the wrong contact centre on the order which had a far greater waiting list than the one I had agreed on. Then when I call him in regard to this he doesn't offer just to send a few quick emails to resolve the issue, in fact he then tells me that it would cost me up to $30,000 with the hourly rate of $330 (previously of which he told me it was $290) Upon questioning him about this he then quickly says that that is including GST. Everyone knows that GST is only 10 % so that would only be $319. So then proceeds to tell me that I would need to deposit $2000 into his account straight away!
This wasn't the first time he asked for money. The other time he was actually getting paid from legal aide and I asked him to do use a previous report and get an order of which he said " I am not instructed to do this and will need you to pay me". He knew the mention was a few days away and tried to get me to put the funds into his account before the end of the day. I managed to get it all done with an order made without him!
Many times he would leave the work till the last minute and set me unrealistic deadlines to have the affidavit and other materials in. I was also a little shocked that when I did the affidavit it was actually me doing the WHOLE affidavit with only his sub-headings. What I also found odd was he would make me write down the particulars of the meeting in an agreement form and sign it. Another oddity was calling at all hours, even at 10.30 at night!
This palava continued up till the day before my trial when on that particular day when I wanted only to have a relatively calm day he asks me to complete the stuff for the case outlines and then despite me clearly instructing him that I needed the rest of the day off to rest he calls me in the late afternoon, around 4.30 pm, and expects me to do a whole lot of other stuff for him which takes me till 11.30 pm to do!
Many times I would have to say to him "have you done this or that and he would tell me there was plenty of time. So the Monday before the trial (trial was Wednesday)go through the subpoenaed material to find out all this damaging information about my former husband. When I called him to broach it with him he had no idea....imagine getting that kind of shock just prior to trial!
On the first day of the trial he rocks up to court a few minutes before the start time after telling me to get there at 8.30.
So here is the clincher...at the end of the conversation the other day after I agreed for him to do the work he then asks me to get a letter from psychiatrist (I don't have one) to agree that I am fully "capicitated" to give him instruction!...l am not the one incapacited with severe mental issues here! Not only rude but completely discriminatory! You would not ask a person with heart disease for a letter from their cardiologist!
So needless to say I quickly ended the call!
I DO NOT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO GO THROUGH THIS SO PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ON THIS LEGAL FIRM EVEN IF YOU GO THROUGH LEGAL AIDE GET SOMEONE ELSE!
Terrible experience with Peter with a terrible outcome that has caused me a lot of mental stress and cost me time with my kids 😥
