Absolutely Disappointing - Avoid at All Costs!

I've used this tax accounting firm for the past 1.5 years, and my personal experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. It's become painfully clear that they only care about money, regardless of your situation.

They'll quote you one price (e.g., $15k for a job) and then somehow that figure doubles to $30k, with no consideration for your circumstances. Small tax jobs get endlessly delayed, and they'll conveniently shift the blame onto you. They have a complete disregard for job deadlines, leaving you in the lurch.

Be warned: if the amount is substantial, they'll push you to sign the invoice as a personal contract, and if you can't pay, they won't hesitate to send legal notices.

The business owner and main tax agent, John, is incredibly expensive, charging $660 per hour. If you dare to negotiate his fees, he becomes very aggressive. Every conversation with him feels like he's desperate for money, constantly trying to create new "issues" and generate new jobs with hefty fees for himself. Honestly, they should consider a gold mining business instead of a tax accounting firm – it seems more aligned with their priorities.

Save yourself the stress, the delays, and the exorbitant, inflated bills. Also, save yourself from being caught in their trap for both business and personal tax issues. Look elsewhere for your tax needs.

This is my honest experience and a reflection of how things unfolded after the consultation.

I originally left John a 5-star review out of courtesy following our consultation and payment. However, after being repeatedly ignored despite multiple follow-ups, I’ve revised my rating to reflect the actual experience more accurately.

The consultation took place on 10 March 2025. Given the premium fee, more than I’ve paid to see a specialist doctor, I expected high-quality service and some basic follow-up. After the session, I asked John for a brief summary of the key tax points we discussed. He agreed but never sent anything. Out of frustration, I ended up writing six dot points myself and simply asked him to confirm or correct them.

I followed up via email on the 18th, 20th, and 25th of March, as well as by phone. Still, no reply. In my final email on the 25th, I mentioned that I was considering revising my review if I didn’t receive a response. I heard nothing back.

It wasn’t until I actually changed the Google review on 4 April that John responded—calling me four times within 24 hours, including on a Saturday. I found it disappointing that the urgency only came once his public image was affected, rather than when a paying client had been politely following up over several weeks.

To be fair, I have updated this review within 24 hours, a response time which was not reciprocated when I was the one waiting.

This isn’t written out of malice. I gave John every opportunity to respond and resolve things professionally. While the consultation itself was helpful, the lack of follow-through and communication afterward was frustrating.

Three stars. A neutral rating that reflects a mix of good initial service but poor responsiveness afterward.
