We have dealt with Shane for many years (even before it was GLFP) and have always been happy with his advice and service. His office staff (Nathan, Noah, Marvin, Sam and the rest) have been equally helpful and professional. We have always listened to Shane's Advice but not necessarily taken it and he was okay with that as he said we need to be happy with our decisions. He said his job is to suggest and explain strategies and we then make our minds up. We like that relationship.

I first met Shane and Courtney at GL Financial Planning after receiving a referral from some friends when I mentioned I wanted to find a local adviser rather than one in Melbourne. From my first phone call with Shane I knew it would be a good fit. At our initial meeting Shane took the time to find out what was important to me, what my short, medium and long term goals were, took my existing paperwork to review my policies and insurances and promised me that he was “only here to challenge me and throw some ideas around” it would ultimately be my decision if I took his advice.

Shortly after our first meeting two major events occurred which were both unexpected - first, I was made redundant and second I had a health issue. Shane worked through the different options for my redundancy and we spoke at length about what I would like to achieve. For the health issue, Shane and Courtney dealt with my insurance company for me and managed the trauma insurance payment that I received as a result of the diagnosis. They both ensured I had a stress free process and the payment was made 4 weeks after the initial claim.
