Stayed 1 night during a country work trip. Only place within 100 km to stay so no choice. Can't rate the hotel as it was closed (Monday night) . Staff member was nice and offered to cook a meal from a limited menu which she also delivered to my room. Meal was great. The rooms however are poor. Donga style circa 1970. They had everything in them but seriously run down. Wouldn't take the wife and family !!!. But if you just need a room as I did, then it is what it is......

Food was poorly made, using the cheapest ingredients. The "flathead" was clearly straight from a birds eye box and definitely not flathead. And the scotch fillet was a 1 minute sandwich steak at best. Definitely not worth the price. Beer is bloody expensive too.

Two couples and we stayed in the motel-style rooms at the rear of the hotel. The staff were very friendly. Our rooms were very uninviting; no flyscreens and there were a lot of mosquitos, no heating in the room, the venetian blinds wouldn't close but the curtain did, a very dirty shower curtain, although water pressure was great. The tv was too small and was on a cupboard next to the bed at head height, making it impossible to view whilst lying in bed. The breakfast supplied was very basic but quite edible.||Our meal in the lovely dining room was mixed. My mixed grill was good but my mate had a very tough t-bone which he didn't enjoy at all.||A $130.00 per room per night, we found it didn't offer good value for money.

An interesting and fun night at the Gnowangerup pub. The Managers were away, and the staff, Rae and Tricia did a wonderful job given there was a bit of a 'pre-harvest' gathering of the local lads - and a skimpy. Menu was limited on this night as I understand the Manager usually cooks, but the food was tasty, quick and importantly served with big smiles.

HUGE and delicious serves of good country pub food. The redone dinning room is great for a meal. Love the name Merino's. Great looking logo too.||If you are in the Gnowangerup Shire or driving through, stop here for dinner or a Sunday lunch.||Table service lacking but staff lovely.||Odd that they didn't serve tea or coffee with dessert.||Take away available too - same huge servings at same prices.||Reasonable wine menu too.

Dee and Danny the Managers,run a great welcoming country pub for the locals and visitors alike. Food is great and the beer is cold. atmosphere is great and accommodation very comfortable. If you're passing though stop in for a meal or a place to sleep for the night.

Rooms are run down. Food is average for the price.
Skimpy night, the bar is full. Every other night is empty. Meaning locals have money to spend but choose not too. Obviously due to the way it is run.

Friendly staff and owner Brian ensure a pleasant stay.
Good place to hang out when in area.
Very basic accomodation but typical of country town.
Restaurant serving all types of pub food.
Great "Ned Kelly" outdoor fire place made by Graeme Hammer.
