If I could give zero stars for Harcourts Launceston rentals, I would. Sales might deserve 5 stars, but rentals don’t even deserve one.

When I moved into my rental, I was handed a condition report from 2020 instead of being given a proper new one. I raised concerns about the damages that were already there, but was told not to worry. On top of that, I was pressured into a lease transfer rather than being offered a proper new lease, like new tenants get now. At that time, my wife and I were expecting a baby, and I felt backed into a corner — I had no choice but to accept it.

Fast forward just over a year later, and now they’re trying to make me pay for repairs to damage that was there long before I even moved in. Completely unfair, and not what a professional rental agency should be doing.

Tenants deserve honesty and respect. Instead, I felt misled, pressured, and left fighting to protect my bond from charges that don’t belong to me. If you’re thinking of renting through Harcourts Launceston, be very careful.

Our experience was incredibly stressful and disappointing.
Upon arrival, the house was full of mould, dirty, not clean at all.
we were met with denial and refusal to take responsibility. Even worse, Kaila (our agent) attempted to accuse us of causing damage that was not only present when we moved in, but was documented in the condition report at the start of our tenancy— meaning she clearly knew about it. It’s not a nice feeling being accused of things but when they’re done this way, it makes it even more disgusting.

We had to seek advice from the Tasmanian Tenants’ Union, who confirmed the landlord was in breach of minimum housing standards. Despite this, Kaila made the process of terminating the lease unnecessarily difficult and continued to pressure us for unjustified charges even after finally accepting the termination.

Communication was often dismissive, accountability was avoided, and our rights and wellbeing as tenants were disregarded. This experience caused significant stress, and I would not recommend renting through this agency. Extremely unprofessional.

First Home buyers . Neil and Yvonne made buying our first home a wonderful and easy experience for us. They had great knowledge of the property we purchased and provided quick and great communication in regards to any queries we had after the inspection. There is no doubt that Kirsten Williams was my property manager before and she was doing fantastic job, quick action, responsive, and many more.

But the turning point comes with new property manager and the Harcourt team. Team said to fix blinds in 4 days of starting the lease of House. Even, they said in Email couple of times that blind fixing guy will call you. But even after 19 days, neither single call that I got nor team fix yet. When we are asking, they are suggesting to use old blind (which was place in the dirty area where spiders existed and shared the photo to them) or use some clothe to cover windows and door.

They don’t know which way we are suffering in the house. There is no privacy, very little safe, creepy, scary special in a dark time.

I requested that team should talk to owner and if they wants then we are happy to vacant the house and when you fix, give us back but they have just one answer sorry.

My question is very simple If anything happens in the house, who are responsible or I will say I don’t have money to pay rent and just apologise them as they are doing, Does the team accept ?

Bibby and Jake have been so wonderful throughout the purchasing of our new home and selling our old homes. They went above and beyond to help find us the perfect family home, with everything we were looking for. Because they were so great to deal with when looking for a new home, we asked them to sell our old properties, and they helped us to achieve great prices for both of them. I wouldn’t consider going through another realestate agent in the future. They have been very accessible and responsive throughout the whole process, and helped make it as stress free as possible.
