So disappointed in my experience with this business.

I booked with H and R Burleigh waters because of their good reviews but don’t be fooled as this was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever received.

I had never used an accountant before or paid someone to help with my tax return but as I got a new job last financial year and a brand new car that I use primarily for work I thought it’d be a good idea to get professional advice and help.

I have now learned this firm are not actual accountants and are “advisors” who also don’t advise well at all and can’t answer questions when asked as they believe it doesn’t involve them or don’t have the patience to help you understand.

Do yourself a favour and don’t book in with these people unless you want to do the work yourself.

At the end of my appointment I asked them not to submit the return as I wasn’t happy with the outcome of a $1600 return. I was then billed $244 which was significantly more than I expected as I had a logbook and that was an extra charge that I was unaware of.

I then went home and spent 5 hours of my own time looking into things and realised how wrong this estimated refund was and how many other things I can claim that I was not even asked about.

When I put in a complaint to say I was unhappy with the service and did not want to pay the bill. I received a phone call from the same lady who was unhelpful in the first place who proceeded to argue with me, this was when I found out these are not actual accountants…..

If you are looking for patience and a better understanding of what you can and can’t claim do not book with these people.

Again I am utterly disappointed and baffled at the poor service and argumentative staff I experienced.

I would recommended everyone else to not waste their time and look for actual registered accountants.

I am incredibly disappointed with my visit to H&R - Burleigh. I needed some assistance with the Tax Return but unfortunately my experience was terrible. Although the woman clearly indicated that she was able to carry out my case, she did not do anything at all. However she charged me for the five minutes she was looking at the computer. I expected a lot more from a professional firm, and I’m incredibly frustrated by the lack of transparency and attention to detail.

I had to reach another company that immediately solved my issue. I received my return a few days after. I cannot thank them enough for the outstanding service I received.

Save yourself the trouble and look for an accountant who takes their job seriously. Unless you want to waste your money and your time. I will definitely not be using their services again.
