Absolutely appalling service!
We took our business and our personal tax returns to Cairns H&R block. We had our appointment 4 weeks ago tomorrow. Our tax returns have still not been submitted. We have called the office over 8 times and emailed 3 times only to be told we will get a call back and NOTHING! Absolutely no communication from anyone!!!!

Extremely frustrated as we trusted these guys to handle our tax returns based off a recommendation. Never again.

I will be going to the ombudsman and taking this further.

I’ve had two bad experiences with this place now.
Last year (2023) the tax agent did such a terrible job, the manager had to step in to first convince me not to go elsewhere, and then they re-did my tax return.
This year (2024) I booked a telephone appointment, but the agent never called. I tried calling the office several times, and no one picked up. Left a voicemail, but still no call back. Waste of time.
I suggest don’t bother wasting your time with this place.

Had the first appointment with the owner/manager of H & R Block Westcourt who told me not to pay PAYG instalments for my self employed husband as they were too high and she would contact the ATO and let us know the outcome. This was 3 months ago, still waiting. Emailed the agent direct, no response. Got home from holidays last week to find letters from the ATO demanding payment. Tried to ring the agent again, answering machine - left a message. Received a call the next day from the receptionist advising she would forward my message on to the agent. It has now been a week with no response. This is my second experience with H & R Block, two different branches and both times have been disgusting!
DEFINITELY NO MORE H & R BLOCK for us!
