Monica was the person my case was given to. Completely unprofessional. The receptionists, are also completely unprofessional. I have used this service in the past and it was awesome then!
I called to ask Monica to touch base for 3 weeks in a row. Instead she canceled my case. I didn't call belligerent neither did I yell or curse. She is very incompetent and so are those handling the front desk. I am not a lawyer, I've needed enough in my life at this point to not only never use this service again and pay more money to people who actually pretend they care. KSL has gone down a lot!
Hopefully the lawyers of the future will care more. Socialism on the rise, having awesome customer service and care will be key to keeping a job and places like this running.
Hopefully KSL will start to care again, we the people are living breathing beings and should be treated as such!

If 5 negative stars was an option, I’d give that. I posted the below letter my mother wrote in defense of me on Facebook and FB took it down. Said attorney of the post below is Rhonda Sullivan. Facebook clearly is in support of silencing victims. I hope Google does better.

Today I am sharing with you just a portion of the experience Kristi has experienced standing to advocate for herself as a victim with the intent of standing for women before her and sadly those that will follow. Deciding to press charges and stand against your abuser is so overwhelming. What I'm addressing today is Kristi's treatment in an PFA hearing last week. Her abuser broke the no contact order by sending Kristi a text message telling her she planned to kill herself. Under counsel of Kristi's therapist and family and friends, and even her abusers commander's from the Army, Kristi decided to file a contempt of court.

Unfortunately the attorneys, Kristi's advocate, a state employed attorney whose salary is paid by mine, Kristi's, and other victims' taxes, took no time to understand Kristi's story or what she needed help with that day in the hearing. A friend of Kristi's and myself were sitting the lobby of the Sedgwick County Courthouse when Kristi came walking up to us. Not far behind was Kristi's advocate. She appeared angry and frustrated. Honestly, I stood in shock as this attorney was barking at me that Kristi really had 2 decisions. One, she said, was like blackmail to the defendant. The defendant would be reprimanded, given 90 days to comply with the existing no contact order, and then the case would be dismissed. OR Kristi could just represent herself.

It felt like the attorney was pushing her in the direction that honestly would involve the least amount of time and paperwork without listening to my daughter and her specific situation. I know one question Kristi asked was if there was any way to have the PFA finalized. The attorney said NO. She's (the abuser) in the military. That fact is unethically and grossly untrue. A managing attorney of KLS is lying to victims about their right to protection. THIS IS NOT OKAY!

The conversation that ended in the lobby of the courthouse was so unprofessional. As Kristi asked a couple of more questions, the attorney said she would just go let the judge know that Kristi had decided to represent herself. Kristi said I haven't decided that at all. The attorney responded that she would be withdrawing from the case and stormed off. We stood speechless for a second and I said loudly, because the attorney was across the lobby and close to the door to the courtroom, that Kristi did not decide to represent herself. With her hand on the door of the courtroom, the lobby full of people, including Kristi's abuser's family and friends, the attorney turned and YELLED "I DO NOT CARE!!'

I have learned a lot in the last 7 or 8 months about the systemic shortcomings that leave victims, brave enough to file a complaint, feeling helpless and alone. I must also add there have been some incredibly supportive individuals.

If my daughter hadn't been a strong advocate I'm certain her abuser, represented by a very good defense attorney, would have been able to file for a diversion and after a year, her abuse would have never showed up on her record. I have witnessed a shortage of attorney's trying to handle the load of an enormous caseload that leads to an experience for a victim feeling as helpless as cows being cattle prodded toward slaughter.
If an attorney is so beat down after a 30 year career that she can't professionally and respectfully speak on behalf of a victim then perhaps she is in the wrong profession. My daughter's story matters. Every victim matters.

Refusal to actually help with a PFA and enforcement thereof. I’ve done all of the work to protect my kids, the PFA was violated multiple times, and the attorney, Rhonda, just shrugged and said there’s nothing she can do. My daughter is terrified and there’s “nothing” Rhonda can do. A complete waste of time, hire a real attorney instead of dealing with this group.
