This library is amazing, they have free English classes, which I really appreciate as a foreign in Australia. Also, I usually go to there to do my study and the environment is just perfect.

Thanks so much for everything.

Personally, I use the library only for borrowing and the makers space, so don't have much to say on noise levels, wifi, or seat availability. That being said, the range of books, staff that I have interacted with, and the community activities organised here make Lane Cove Library a welcoming and pivotal hub for learning and creativity in my experience.

If you’re planning to take your kids to the children’s library or Baby Bounce, be aware that the staff in that section can be surprisingly strict with young children and, unfortunately, sometimes rude to parents. They seem to have little tolerance for typical toddler behavior, which can make it challenging to enjoy a space meant for kids. The constant reminders to keep toddlers quiet take away from the experience, especially in an area where some noise should be expected.

Baby Bounce would be much more enjoyable with staff who understand the realities of raising young children. Having more patient, family-friendly staff could create a warmer, more welcoming environment for families.

The staff are beyond rude and disrespectful. Genuinely cranky old women. They don't shush the large groups of children running around but harass the y11 and 12 students studying in a group to be quiet. Seniors sit in the youth room - and then tell high school students to be quiet ! Some of the ladies that work here are lovely but there are way too many cranky old ones who just complain about the wrong things! A baby will be crying and the mother will make no effort to shush her and they don't care but as soon as a group of pretty young girls are talking they have an issue. Wifi is also slow.

Visit this library at your own cost - Macquarie uni library and Chatswood library is much better .

Great library with a great selection. Their opening hours beats any other library which is the biggest pro. They also upgraded their data usage from 2GB to 3GB which is great too.

Kids are sometimes very loud depending on where you sit and they don't really reinforce the kids to quiet down - especially when the kids comes after school. The computers are heavily out of date too.

Very nice public library. Lots of reading areas. Good range of book, magazines, CDs and DVDs. All on line so you can reserve and find out if what you want is on the shelf or not before you go in. Books can be returned at any time with outside slot. Staff very helpful.
Open until 9pm tonight (Monday). Air conditioning working well. Still had power on but most of Lane Cove blacked out tonight.
Very quiet today 1st June 2023. You can borrow magazines but not the current month. I wanted Silicon Chip (electronics) but the current year were all out!!

I've come here three times in the past week and only got a seat with a proper working desk once. The one time I did get that desk, there was a woman who made several phone calls at full volume a few tables away. Staff did nothing about this whatsoever, and the front desk was facing her table. A very clean and polished library with a wide array of books, but people really need to shut their mouths and it feels as if there's never enough tables with how busy this place can get
