Really excellent library branch. Beautifully appointed and centrally located, near a park, with lots of nearby parking. Easily accessible from bus lines. A great selection of books, a robust online reservation system, and lots of extras like magazines, printing capabilities, etc. They always have really fun displays and a good program of events. Quick and easy returns and self check-out using a space-age machine.

It definitely does have that peculiarly Canberra feature of having mediocre signage, so you just... have to know some things. For example, where to return books - there's not a slot or a chute; you check them in at the same machine you use to check them out. But there's no sign to tell you that. You just... have to know. Or someone has to tell you. It's kinda odd how much that happens in this city. But the staff are friendly and will help you very quickly so it's not a major deal, more of a quirk.

Some staff are rude and racist. On 11 Dec 2024 about 2.40 pm, this librarian told a white aussie lady that it is easier for her to use the photocopier to scan documents but rudely told me to use a small scanner. I was happy to wait beside the area. She rudely told me I can wait wherever I like. I asked politely after the she helped her to do all the scanning, if I can use then. She said yes in a condescending tone. While I was scanning I asked for a small space to place each document being scanned. While the first white lady had all her document spread out the whole big table. The librarian came running back and rudely told me, "excuse me" she has not leave the space yet. It was very obvious act of discrimination against asian. By the way, I am an Australian citizen and pay my tax.

2 employees in this library are hard to understand, very confusing to explain simple things,instead they complicated it more, with strong english accent.A man with eye glass who is impatient and a lady who is just purely rude and harsh in her judgement..Bad vibes!!.It seems to me that this is a cunning tactics to wind people up with their schemiing craftiness.
Go back home without any help or assistance.Thanks Belco library 👎.

Great library world class aircon amazing for kids has a lot of kids and geopolitical books with some clubs upstairs the lift and the bathroom lights are broken but still 5 stars
