I just realised this review didn’t upload from 3 years ago! By a miracle we came across Genevieve. My brother was being severely & dangerously discriminated against by his employer. He was willing to comply but wanted to see his specialist rather than a stranger. The employer bullied & fired him for it. Genevieve somehow quickly & efficiently went over the large volume of info without wasting a minute, then lodged a FWC app quickly. She was smarter than the respondent (in our humble opinion!) & he received compo like he deserved. Apart from her skills, she was kind, patient & caring for pple with multifaceted issues. Genevieve is the best in the business.

My mother and I spoke to Cody/Codie (female) for legal advice. At first, she was very polite and made a lot of small talk.

However, when we started discussing the relevant legal issues, I would clarify the situation and ask follow up questions as, at times, I was confused or Cody gave conflicting/unclear advice.

As I asked a few more questions (3 or 4 at this point), Cody became increasingly frustrated, aggressive and rushed. She frequently interrupted me when I tried to speak, only to repeat her previous few words without further explanation and, at one point, patronisingly asking "Is your mother (even) listening still?", implying that there was no point talking to me.

When my mother made it clear she was still present, Codie went back to all smiles and a polite tone of voice.

As a law graduate myself, I was incredibly disappointed with this experience and will be lodging a formal complaint in the morning. Hopefully the conversation was recorded.

She was very adamant that she 'couldn't advise on wills and estates' but my question actually did not pertain to this area of law, which she would have understood if she chose to listen more attentively.

I was told I could get help with an avo here then the lady at the desk said they dont help with them. I asked about if legal aid would be able to she told me I would have to apply in private and legal aid no longer help with them.
She lied, I will be receiving a call from legal aid in ten minutes. In a chat with legal aid online they informed me they would be happy to book an appointment and assist with such

Barbara was excellent today at the NCAT rooms where I was fighting my old landlord over a ridicules bond grab. She walked passed during the mediation meeting and simply asked if the Tennent needed any help. As this was a first for me I was happy for the advice she gave. She was very forthcoming and honest and simplified the whole thing, giving easy, simple and more importantly to the point advice. She helped me come to an agreement that I was happy with and we ended the whole thing in one day instead of having to go back to tribunal. Thank you Barbara

What a farce. Please advocate for them losing their funding and appropriate to something useful. The tenant advocate hovering at NCAT was condescending and not willing to have understanding of your case. Pushing his own opinion and speaking over you in hostile tone. You might have a paper that says practicing certificate but if you are not willing to listen and understand it's not going to be much use to anyone. Get a lawyer and don't let them to sabotage your case - they do more harm than good.

Why do you have Legal Centre's and not Legal Aid available to all citizens on low incomes in Australia? It is like that in other countries. People should start demanding Legal Aid in Australia if you are on a lower income.
Corruption and ineficiency at all Level of the political and legal spectrum.
How can a mother fleeing Domestic Violence do not have the right to a lawyer? Or a pensioner suffering abuse?
Legal Aid lawyers "recommend"children removed from mothers that flee DV in secret hearings so Legal Aid actually is racist, mysoginistic against women. And so is Police.

All DV Organizations are useless and want money to pay top dollars to their staff. If they were serious they would question why mothers that flee DV are denied the right to a lawyer?

Services are worst than in third world countries! Widespread corruption at all levels. Legal Fraternity exploiting mothers and children. Remember Olga Edwards case? She is one of thousands. The Family Court is removing thousands of children every year. These children will join NDIS in a few years.

It is filthy criminal. All in social media. Do not trust the media or the Government. Those women will be called liars and the children. The children are given full custody to the violent father to force women to pay top money to corrupt lawyers and corrupt psychiatrists who write fake court reports. Do not be fooled. It is all on social media.
