I recently attended an appointment with Dr. Alison Drewry for an independent medical examination as requested by my insurer, whom I am claiming work cover from.

Unfortunately, I must express my dissatisfaction with the experience. Dr. Drewry exhibited behavior that was rude, egotistical, and condescending throughout the appointment. There was a lack of clarity regarding the nature of the examination, and she did not take the time to explain that certain questions may seem trivial but were necessary for the assessment.

Dr. Drewry's demeanor lacked empathy and professionalism. She made remarks such as, "You should know, you were working there, not me," when discussing my work history, despite my inability to recall specific details. Her response to my discomfort, "Do you not want to be here? You look disheveled," further exacerbated the situation. When I expressed feeling like the appointment was akin to an interrogation and not what I expected, her retort, "This is my job," was dismissive and unprofessional.

Such behavior is unacceptable for a professional in her position. Dr. Drewry's conduct was deeply disappointing and reflects poorly on the standard of care expected in such examinations. I urge anyone facing a similar appointment to consult with their insurer about alternative options.

Dr. Drewry, I believe there is a clear need for improvement in your approach to patient interactions. Empathy and professionalism are essential qualities that should not be overlooked in your role.
