I found the service to be expensive relative to the outcome achieved. Response times from the lawyer were slow, and I was surprised to be charged for very simple administrative tasks and brief emails, including those related to ending the service. Overall, I felt there was a lack of personal engagement or empathy. Given the availability of affordable tools like AI that can draft letters in seconds, it's worth questioning whether the fees charged for basic correspondence are truly justified.

George Holgate was outstanding throughout my engagement with Murdoch-Clark. He provided professional, timely assistance and was always approachable, whether over the phone or via email. George was fair and transparent with his fees and invoicing, and I found him to be a great soundboard during the process. I’m pleased to recommend George to others.

“Outstanding” i can not recommend Murdoch Clarke any more highly. Lewis from their legal team was a pleasure to deal with 10/10 professional in his field. They took my case on extremely close to court date. But still presented a very very strong case. And I was in and out quickly with very reasonable bill for what I considered extremely fair for the service Lewis and co workers supplied.

It is important to preface this by expressing that I am not inclined to leave negative reviews unless I perceive them to be entirely warranted.

Regrettably, my recent interactions with this firm have left me somewhat dissatisfied, and I believe it is only fair to bring these concerns to your attention. While I understand Hobart is a relatively small community, I would encourage you (for those who are seeking constructive feedback) to explore alternative options that may better cater to your needs.

Outlined below are the primary reasons contributing to my feedback:

Timeliness of Communication: There has been a consistent delay in responses to emails, contrary to the initial assurance of hearing back within a week. In reality, responses were received after a prolonged period of 2 to 3 weeks.

Perceived Lack of Diligence: The overall impression is that the level of care and effort invested in addressing my case did not align with the seriousness it warranted. This aspect is crucial for instilling confidence and ensuring clients feel their concerns are handled with utmost consideration.

Value for Investment: A payment close to $500 was made, yet the advice provided felt somewhat lacking, akin to receiving minimal guidance. This expenditure, when compared to the accessibility of information on platforms like Google, has left me questioning the value proposition.

Peace.

I was recommended Murdoch Clarke’s services by a friend of mine. I wish I read other people experiences before committing to a law firm that is completely unproductive and negligent. I’m assuming that because my case with them is quite a basic one no one’s bothered to put even the slightest effort into dealing with it. Every time I call, no answer. I’ll just get an email response to shut me up it feels like. If I don’t call or email for an update, I won’t get one…. For as long as I don’t. My case has been hand balled from lawyer to lawyer which shows how little they’ve invested in it. I’ve even tried to call to speak to the managing partner with absolutely no luck. I’m stuck now and my simple matter is just getting dragged out past it’s due date. I understand that there are other factors causing delays and it’s not entirely their fault, but their customer service is non existent and effort in closing this is beyond that if there is such a thing. If I had my time again I would have done the research to find a better law firm.
I’ve never written a Google review in my life, so it goes to show how this situation has affected me. Don’t bother with Murdoch Clarke, it’s not worth your sanity.

They are currently dealing with my with my late Aunties estate, who passed away over 18 months ago. Myself and my other family members have been notified, but for some reason have not been told any information to date, which has been very frustrating to say the least. We have currently engaged another lawyer to try and assist with our case. Our last correspondence was three weeks ago where claimed they would provide a detailed reason for lengthy delay and the lack of any information being provided. My dealing with this company have not been good.

I found the person I was dealing with at Murdoch Clarke to be passive aggressive. Also one of their solicitors witnessed my mother's will and also he was the executor of the will and inserted a charging clause in it, for his benefit - which was all rather strange. If I could give them no stars, I would.
