NALA is celebrating its 49th anniversary this year - very few associations have that bragging right. Not only has it lasted 49 years, it has THRIVED!!! I TRULY BELIEVE IN THIS ORGANIZATION and all it stands for!! NALA’s mission is all about education. Since entering the legal profession 20+ years ago, I have witnessed and experienced the monumental evolution of the paralegal profession. During that time, NALA has been the national leader in assisting in this evolution. Because NALA is forward thinking, innovative, and utilizes strategic planning, it continues to be a success and continues to be the leading paralegal association in the United States. No other organization serves paralegals as well as NALA. No matter what gets thrown at us as legal professionals, NALA continues to lead the charge in keeping us relevant and valued.
NALA has enhanced my professional career and my personal experiences in more ways than I can list. I can honestly say I would not be the paralegal and person I am today without all that I've experienced by being a NALA member.

I first called to inquire about membership in NALA in 1999. The staff is so helpful and warm. After joining, passing the CP exam, I set my sights on attending the annual conference. I can tell you that the members are just as nice as the staff. I have always been treated with kindness and my thoughts and opinions are truly valued.

This is just my personal experience and opinion. I paid for the test before graduation, so I could get the student/member rate. Sent them all kinds of info, from my school, my advisor, etc. Received an email one morning saying that I hadn't submitted something, hadn't sent enough money, and they were KEEPING the $125.00.
Folks, as they say, that's when the fight started. They eventually gave me back less than $50.00 (bc of $75 'cancellation fee" ffs) Spoke with one of the rudest people at NALA.
This is the opinion... If you graduated from an ABA accredited college like I did, and you did well in your Paralegal Certification course, like I did, then you don't need to spend $200+ dollars for a certification from this for-profit corporation. Study hard and do the work, save the money.
Suddenly, a few others have reviewed NALA. They are from people with 1-3 other reviews, and all sharing how great NALA is. I'm not saying they aren't honestly happy with their NALA experience. However, in the context of experience, I personally find it suspicious.
