This is the first negative review l have ever written but it is well deserved. I would give Northern Plateau Legal and Tiffany Veschetti minus 5 stars if possible!
First off, the receptionist told me to fill out a Legal Aid from and drop it into their office and the will sort it out. They informed me that l wasn't eligible for Legal Aid, even though l had a family friend who had been a Barrister is whole life and informed me l needed representation for my case.
At my second hearing at the Atherton Courthouse l spoke with the Duty Lawyer and he informed me, my situation is exactly what Legal Aid is created for. He personally rang Tiffany and asked why she didn't approve my application. She said something to the tune of "I'll look into." Which means she never went through the proper avenues or process to check my eligibility for Legal Aid.
My case was adjourned multiple times and l received very little information or understanding of everything from her. Her attitude towards me was pretty disgusting straight off the bat to be honest at our appointments.
On the 28th of February 2024, we had an an appointment where she claimed a week earlier she sent statements via mail which l didn't receive until the 8th of March. She continued to print out the statements and told me to come back on the 3rd of March late in the afternoon at 3:00 p.m. l am not sure why we could not talk about the case on the 28th.
On the 28th later in the day, l rang the receptionist asking for information because l was going to transfer lawyers. Tiffany then rang on her personal phone basically telling me we can sort it out any issues.
So when l rocked up on the 3rd for my appointment she was not listening to any of my concerns, giving me vague advice and answers and had an extremely putrid attitude in general. I left extremely frustrated!
Afterwards l rang the Atherton Courthouse about attending court the next day on the 4th of March. The lady informed me they don't have court on Wednesdays and the matter had been transferred to Southport Courthouse. They could not tell me why. I rang Southport Courthouse and they also could not confirm why the matter had been transferred. I explained l can't attend court in the opposite side of the state with such sort notice, she explained l needed to write an email why l was not able to attend and be by my phone from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m in case the magistrate calls me. If they don't it means they didn't except my excuse for not attending court.
I then rang back Northern Plateau Legal and asked for information surrounding this whole ordeal. The receptionist said she will past on the request but can't guarantee Tiffany will get back to me. I told her if you don't give me the information l am coming to get it. This was around 4:20 p.m in the afternoon. Even though they are open until 5:00 p.m, l got there at 4:35 p.m the had shut up shop and left.
So on the 4th, l sat by my phone for 8 hours wondering what is happening because l am on bail, l miss and they contact me there will be a warrant for my arrest. I rang the Southport Courthouse after 4:00 p.m and they informed me some had represented me and adjourned my case on behalf of Tiffany.
I went in the Atherton Courthouse today to sort out why my case had been transferred to Southport without entering a plea or any prior knowledge from anyone. They told me Tiffany Veschetti was the one who transferred the matter not Atherton or Southport. Not sure if this is even legal or what her excuse is but not notifying is ridiculous.
I will be filling a complaint about all these issues mentioned and more through the proper channels and institution, whom ever it may be asap.
To put in a nutshell Northern Plateau Legal and Tiffany Veschetti are extremely unprofessional and would never recommend them to anyone seeking advice or a solicitor!
