Don’t use Ownit. Little to no communication, things only happened when I contacted their office. Most of the time people had to call me back… most probably because they had to get up to speed. So many errors made from giving me the incorrect information, delays in process and incorrect accounting. Have a look at all the 1 star reviews… the same story over and over again. I am so puzzled as to how anyone could give them a 5 star rating. They cost me money and they wont acknowledge it. They turned what should have been a pleasant experience into a nightmare.

I highly recommend Teagan at Ownit Conveyancing. From the outset she has been available to answer and offer advice on each step. Ownit have got to be the worse conveyances I have ever had to deal with . There Communication was non-existent. We constantly had to contact them. They never contacted us and because of their lack of response to all emails i ended up sleeping in my car over a whole weekend.. yes, they are cheap and you do get what you pay for and I will never ever use them again. They are a poor excuse for a conveyancer

I engaged Ownit Conveyancing for the purchase of my new place and the sale of my old place, and managed to have problems with both transactions. There was a complete lack of communication, I asked numerous questions which were never answered, and they even asked me when the sale of my property was going to occur AFTER it had already settled (which they did the settlement for). I asked on numerous occasions for the proceeds of sale to be held in their trust account for a week so it could be applied to my purchase at settlement the following week, but then the proceeds were transferred to me not held in trust (despite confirmation they would hold the funds in trust). Settlement dates were calculated wrong. I asked numerous times what time settlement of my purchase was scheduled for, to which I never received a response - I only found out because the seller told me. Following settlement I received confirmation from the seller, my mortgage broker and the real estate agent that settlement had gone through 2 and a half hours before I received any sort of communication from Ownit that settlement was successful (and even then it was a proforma email). I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but this one is well deserved. I do not recommend using Ownit. They are cheaper than other conveyancers, and that truly shows in the quality of work and service.

I sold a property and bought a property and used on both occasions Ownit.
At the beginning it was very confusing since I got contacted by 5 different people of this company.Leaving me wondering who is looking after my business: When I finally had a personal conveyor allocated it was fine. The second part, buying a property was a far more smooth process .
I would use Ownit again:

Only recommendation is to stay well away!
Zero stars would be to much of a compliment.
Made a complete mess of settlement and now won’t respond to communications.
Charged more than the fixed price quote, again no response when raised,
Zero internal communication as many times had to repeat instructions in response to several duplicate emails from different staff.
Missed contract deadline at very start of engagement.
And now left paying a significant debt due to their poor unprofessional service.
